After a half hour of speedily unpacking as I talk on the phone with Kat, I am finally unpacked. My room isn't very big, but at least it is my space. This room was the only empty, so I guess all my suite mates are already moved in and hanging out somewhere else on campus, which is a relief because I wasn't quite ready for another new person after the last person I encountered.
The Suite is larger than I expected, but with 5 people staying here, it makes since. When you walk in there is a large open concept layout. The kitchen has an enormous island with 5 seats around it, and the living room has a sectional that could seat 8. There is a small study area, and a foosball table, and beyond this is a long hallway with seven doors, one being the the bathroom, 5 others our room--mine the furthest down the hall-- and adjacent to my door and the bathroom door is another door, which I assume is an extra linen closet.
After finishing hanging the last of my shirts, I decide to change into something more comfy than my first impression outfit-- skinny jeans, and a top I got from a cute boutique back home, and some flats-- into a pair of yoga capris and a oversized vneck. I toss my dark brown hair into a messy ponytail figuring it's probably best to be a little sloppy, considering half of my roommates are males, and fraternization between suite mates doesn't normally work out anyway. I put the few snacks I brought into the already packed fridge, and keep a cup of yogurt out to eat while I wait on my roommates.
I sink into the cozy couch and flip through the channels. Which seems to be primarily news. I can hear laughter and footsteps. I look to the front door to see if anybody is coming in, but then turn when I realize the footsteps are coming from the hallway. I peek down the hall, and out pop two girls, who thankfully are dressed similar to me, and a guy.
"Hey," the blonde girl says. "I'm sorry, we didn't realize you'd already arrived, or we would've come down sooner. I'm Beatrice, this is Kyle" she gestures toward the boy. Okay, this may come off slutty or something because I just kissed someone else, but he is cute! My nerves kick in. "And this is Cassie, nice to meet you Anna."
She hugs me, but the other two just shake my hand, which is totally fine with me.
"We were just coming down, for more drinks, would you like to join us?" Asks Kyle.
Down? That's right! I forgot my mother insisted on me applying for a 3rd level Suite because they're the only ones with roof access. That must be what the other door led to.
"Sure," I smiled, happy to have easy going roommates. We head up to the roof, which is jut a small flight of stairs up and come out the door to a flat balcony like roof. There is a fire pit , a small sitting area and a ping pong table which they insist I help them break in.
"Knock, knock!" I hear from behind me during the middle of our Kyle and Cassie vs Anna and Beatrice match, and the voice is chillingly familiar.
