"Miss Wolfe, this is Mr. Steele."the young detective nodded towards the man in the room with the most delicious and powerful aura, Amelia Wolfe had ever encountered. Mr.Steele waved his hand towards the the detective, who's name she never did hear, and he left the room leaving the other two alone. She walked over to where the man was standing, watching her, and held out her hand in greeting, "A.D.A. Amelia Wolfe." He took her hand and shook it, giving her a soft smile, " Eli Steele, pleasure to meet you, Miss Wolfe." She raised her eyebrow at him, questioning if it truly was a good thing she was meeting this powerful, and possibly dangerous man. She walked away from him to look out the window at the city below, "If it's not to much to ask.. why is one of the most powerful Alphas in the country doing here in New York, working as a lawyer?" A low chuckle, not unlike a growl, came from behind her. The alpha walked over and looked out the window as well, a dangerous smirk playing at his lips, "I was wondering how long it would take for you to question it, little wolf."

Amelia sharply turned to face him, her lips starting to draw back in a snarl. Being this close to him she couldn't help but notice how alarmingly attractive the male wolf was.Her primal side was drawn towards him, enjoying the power and dominance he gave off. The other side of her, however, was on edge knowing from experience the kind of damage an alpha can do. "Relax Miss Wolfe." His eyes flashed to the cold blue, only an alpha could have. The color sent shivers down her spine, reminding her of a time so long ago. She continued to stare at him, not wanting to show how he was affecting her. The male came closer until he was so close, they were practically touching, his voice low and deep, "I feel drawn to you, Miss Wolfe.. I believe it's one of the signs of a true mate bond showing." 

A sudden weight was pressing down on her chest as he continued to stare at her,growing visibly nervous, afraid if she would reject it. "I believe you are right, she swallowed, watching his eyes light up, and continued, "I'm sorry but I can't be your mate." She heard the sharp intake of air as his eyes widened looking hurt. "I don't understand." His voice shook and he ran a a hand harshly through his deep brown hair. Her eyes moved to look at the ground, hating for making the powerful alpha turn timid and scared, "I can't be with you." she whispered. The male took a step back like the words physically hurt him to hear. He exhaled heavily but didn't try to speak, waiting for her to go on. "Things have happened in my past..that have led me to have serious issues with trusting males, she sighed, It wouldn't be fair to you or me to engage in a relationship that I know wouldn't be healthy." The pain was building in the alpha's chest as he tried to understand where she was coming from."Can we at least.. be friends?" the idea of never being able to be with the one soul who he was meant for, was crushing him but he would deal with it if it meant he could be apart of her life.

Amelia stared at him wondering if either one of them could handle that since it was obvious the  wolf side of them was already starting to feel the pull of the bond.Eventually, she nodded slowly "We can try to be." A sad smile appeared on the shaky alpha's lips, "Thank you." he murmured. She tried to returned the smile but the feeling in her chest was starting to become too much. She needed to get out of there. "I should go." Her voice cracked and her body ached as she started to move away from him. He didn't say anything as she turned and sped out of the office.

Once outside, Amelia let out an exhale trying to calm her racing heart. Wiping her sweaty hands on her skirt she walked to the elevator and entered it. Raising her shaking hand to press the button for the lobby of the building, she watched as the doors closed but not before she heard a sob come from the office she just left.

This is an idea that popped in my head today and i wanted to share it. I'm not sure if i should continue it though xD
