chapter 5 / the reception
Serena's POV
"Ladies and Gentleman, Damas y Caballeros. I present you the princess of the night. Les presento la princesa de la noche. SERENA LUNA JACKSON !!!"
I hear the DJ say. Man if I'm not nervous. My main and only chambelan grabs my hand and leads me for my grand entrance. He looks even more nervous than I do.
"David?" I say
"Yes ?" his voice his shaking
"You're going to do great! If you feel like fainting, you can fall onto me" I smile
"Thanks, I should be the one saying that though" he grins
I laugh "true, but you look like you saw ghost" I say
"We're almost there" he nods ahead
We get to the staircase and I hear everyone cheer, whistle, clap, gasp.
I smile at them and wave. David grabs my hand again and walks me down the stairs leading me towards my parents and siblings. They all had the biggest grins on their faces, I couldn't help but grin back at them.
We all walked towards the middle of the dance floor and say a few words. My guest have two hours to have dinner and dessert until the actual party gets started. I try my best to greet all my guest and thank them for coming.
2 hrs later
"Can I have everyone's attention. Porfavor."
I was sitting in the main table with my friends and chambelan. When I look up to see my father with my god father with a mic.
"Serena's God-Father would like to give some words" he says and hands the mic to him
"Good evening everyone, we are all gathered today to celebrate Serena's sweet sixteen. There aren't enough words to say how proud I am of her.
When we were planning this massive party. Serena made it clear that she wanted a Banda, but none of us didn't have that money. but some sort of miracle happened and she deserves to her Banda. So I made a few phone calls and well I present you Banda M.P"
I gasp. I didn't expect this. I get up and try to walk as fast as I could towards my god father. He walks towards me and hugs the living life out of me
"Thank you padrino. thank you thank you thank you" I say
"You're very welcome my princess"
"You didn't have too"
"You deserved it" is all he says.
Few minutes later. it was time for the traditional crowing, shoe changing, last doll, and father daughter dance.
I dance with my dad, one of the things I was looking forward for tonight. Everyone in the room is tearing up. I look up my dad "thank you daddy for everything" I say
"You're welcome my princess" he kisses my forehead and hands me to my god father. I danced with everyone in my family. Next thing you know it's time for the waltz
"Damas Y Caballeros. Serena y David su baile de vals. Ladies and Gentleman, Serena and David present you their waltz."
A thousand years by Cristina Perri starts and we began dancing my waltz. I couldn't help but smile to David. As the song was ending, everyone got to their feet and started cheering and clapping.
We walked out of the dance floor. And I turn to David, hugged him so hard. He started chocking.
"Sorry, but I wanted to thank you for being my chambelan. I know how nervous you get in front of a crowd, you have no idea how much this meant to me. Thank You David" I say and hug him tightly which he accepts.
I didn't have a surprised dance, because that would have been a lot more stressful for everyone.
Everyone comes to the dance floor and we dance the night away.
As the night comes to an end. I get a message from a very special someone.
Thomas: " I hope you're having the time of your life :)"
Serena: "I am, thankyou!"
Thomas: "wish I could be there"
Serena: "Me too."
Thomas: "well I won't keep you from your guest, I'll text you tomorrow ?"
Serena: "yes. that would be great"
Thomas: " okay, good night Serena"
Serena: "goodnight Thomas"
