Get off to the right start with your writing this year by joining the Malice 'Write Start' Awards.
This is a writing contest based on skill. If you have a completed story that fits our requirements and want to win great prizes, read all of the details below.
Story Categories:
• Novel - a completed story between 40,000 and 200k words.
• Novella - a completed story between 17,000 answer 39k words.
• Short Story - a completed story under 7500 words.
(All genres will be accepted except fanfiction and imagines. Original stories only please.)
Judging criteria and scoring:
Your stories will be judged on various criteria, but the number of votes, reads, and amount of promotion your story has will not be factored into the score.
You will be judged on the following:
• Originality and Plot - 50 points
• Grammar, Punctuation, Structure - 50 points
• Character Development - 50 points
• Style - 25 points
• Pacing and Voice - 15 points
• Summary - 10 points
This gives you a total of 200 possible points.
Submission requirements:
• All stories must be complete.
• All stories must be written in English.
• No fanfiction or imagines will be accepted. Original fiction only, please.
• Stories must meet the word count requirements stated above.
• Stories must be submitted BEFORE March 1st, 2017 by 11:59 pm est.
How to submit your story for the contest:
• Comment the title of your book, the category (novel, novella, short story), the genre, and a link in the comments.
• Add this book to your reading list to keep up with updates.
