"Good morning Misha!" Katie said petting the chubby tan dog that was laying on the couch. He waddled over to his food dish, sniffed it, then walked away. Katie sighed and walked over to her coffee maker. As she poured the steaming coffee into her favorite mug, she looked out of the window.
Leaves fell slowly to the ground in vibrant colors of red, orange, yellow, and green. It was the beginning of fall, Katie's favorite of all the seasons.
She sipped her coffee as she got ready for work. Katie took pride in looking her best every day, so as she finished getting dressed she admired herself in the mirror. Today she had decided to wear a pink flannel, jeans, and knee high brown boots. She smiled as she put her mug into the sink and slipped on her jacket.
Outside, she hopped onto her moped and headed off to work at the bakery. When she arrived Katie was quickly greeted by the scent of baked goods and coffee. She smiled and began to pipe icing onto a fresh batch of cupcakes. Once those were finished she got to work on the pie.
This bakery was known for having the best pie in town, and it was Katie's special recipe. She placed the first pie in the oven, wiping her hands off on her apron and grinning. Then she hurriedly started on another pie.
Katie glanced up at the clock on the bakery wall, it read 8:57. She took the pies out of the oven to let them cool off, and she flipped on the "open" sign on the front window.
For the next few hours customers flooded in and out, but one group of men caught her eye. Two of them were dressed in suits, and the other wore a trench coat. "Hello! My name is Katie. How may I help you?" Katie greeted cheerfully.
The one with short dirty blonde hair spoke up, "I hear that you guys have pie.." he said looking at a freshly baked pie sitting on the counter. "As a matter of fact we have the best pie in town." Katie replied cutting him a slice.
The tall one with long hair spoke next, "And I'll take a coffee." He said smiling. The one in the trench coat just stood there staring at Katie. The tall guy paid for the pie and coffee and they sat down at one of the bakery tables.
Katie couldn't help but overhear their conversation, apparently there was a witch in town. She shook her head and walked back into the kitchen laughing, some people are crazy, Katie thought to herself.
When they were finished Katie thanked them for coming and the blonde one said that they would definitely be back tomorrow. As they were leaving Katie accidentally bumped into the one in the trench coat, "Oh I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed stepping out of his way. "It's ok.." he replied. As he said this their eyes met and Katie was mesmerized at the mans crystal blue eyes, they seemed to almost sparkle.
She laughed nervously and hurried back behind the counter, her heart pounding in her chest, and a smile across her face.
