2 hours before the earthquake. No one has figured out what will happen in the next few hours.

Jack's POV
We watched like two episodes of pretty little liars and Am was already asleep.

"Seriously how much does she sleep," I said in my thoughts.

She had her head in my lap, sleeping.

She looked so beautiful. I always had a crush on her but she never knew. She just thought of me as a friend. But I wanted us to be more than that. I never wanted to ask her out because I thought that it would ruin our friendship. So I kept it all to myself. She's all I have for a best friend other than Johnson but he was just someone I hung out with.

Staring at her beautiful face, I suddenly bolted up.

"Oww, why'd you do that," she asked.

"Look."

On the tv screen, what used to play pretty little liars suddenly turned to an emergency broadcast system.

Emergency broadcast system: this is not a drill. This is an emergency broadcast system for a severe earthquake in the following area:
Los Angeles, California
This warning is for everyone around the area. Los Angeles will be the most impacted. We encourage you to head to higher places in case of a tsunami. May God help us all.

"Oh my god Jack what do we do."

"Shit what do we do."

Go under my bed and hurry."

We could already start feeling the vibrations coming from the Earth.

As we hurried up the stairs, Am just had to trip.

"Oww, Jack help me!"

I turned around and she couldn't get up.

"I'm coming."

I grabbed her and put her under my bed.

"Okay, am cover your head and don't go out of this bed."

"Okay."

Everything by now was vibrating, knocking everything from all my cabinets, just barely missing our feet.

"Jack hold me please."

"Am I would never let go."

We were like this for another 40 seconds when it finally stopped.

"Let's go get an emergency kit and head out."

"Why."

"The earthquake could have Impacted us and be large enough to cause a tsunami."

"Okay fine lets go."

We started walking since we couldn't use my jeep. We were devastated when we got outside. Everything was crumbled. Houses, buildings and so much more. We helped out some neighbors then we headed to the highest mountain we could find.

Am didn't have any parents. They left when she was a baby and put her up for adoption when she was 2 years old. She was adopted and we lived next to each other, but we would never talk to each other until kindergarten came and we became best friends. As for me, I do have parents but Am's parents and mine went to vacation together to Maryland while we stayed here the whole summer by ourselves. Our parents didn't mind. They were happy, but they just told us to take care of each other. And I'm making sure I keep that promise.

We were walking, thinking to ourselves, when suddenly another warning came in some sirens.

Emergency broadcast system
The national weather system has issued a tsunami warning. Head to higher ground and protect yourselves . May God protect us.

"Jack what do we do now."

We could already see the waves coming in.

"Run Am as fast as you can."

We ran since the water was already coming in . We just needed two more blocks and we would have to start climbing to get up on the mountain. We could already see people up there.

"Jack were not going to make it."

"Fuck, fuck, FUCK what do we do."

By now we could already see the big wave coming in.

By the beach we could see some tall rocks. And we were pretty close to them.

"Lets go there."

"Okay."

We were tired but we started sprinting as fast as we could.

We didn't make it.
