Savera sighed. Wasn't this just the perfect way to end the worst Friday ever?

It started this morning. Not only did she forget to charge her phone last night (resulting in no alarm to wake up on time), but she also skipped breakfast, got drenched by a freak storm while running to class, only to be locked out.

Then the headphones fell out of the pocket they were in, getting drenched in rainwater and therefore not working.

On top of that, her dear professor obviously did not realize that to err was to be human, meaning he marked her absent, gave her a zero for the pop quiz from today, and embarrassed her in front of everyone in class after all the trouble she went through to get there.

But of course, that's not it. Her debit card was out of money for the first time ever, and the ever-so-lovely ex boyfriend decided to drop a pile of her bras and thongs in the middle of the commons for everyone to see. Why? Because she had taken the liberty to break up with him, after finding out he was cheating on her.

Now she was sitting on the bus bench, drenched yet again because the bus broke down a couple blocks before this stop, leaving her stuck in the everlasting rain of New York waiting for the bus to take her to her friend's house for their weekly tradition of random clothes and clubs.

"Screw this." she muttered. She pulled out my phone and called Maria.

"Hey Maria? I can't make it. The damn bus broke down and I'm getting cold and sick and I'm tired and I just wanna go home and eat ramen and fall asleep to some crappy chick flick. I'm sorry." she groaned.

"Savera Eisley, you are not canceling on me again. This is the third time you haven't come!"

She paused, not knowing how to get out of it. Every time they had planned something to do together, something went wrong on her side, forcing her to cancel her plans.

She sighed. "I know, I know. But what do I do?"

"Go ahead and go home. I'll meet you there. I'll help you get ready and then we'll go to a club that's close to your apartment. Just watch TV and eat something warm and take something so you won't get sick while you wait. There's no way in hell I will let you cancel on me, again."

"You are so damn lucky I love you and that I have no other friends. I'm walking home now. Just get here quick okay?" she shivered, heading across the street.

Maria's laugh chimed. "I'm in the subway already. See you soon, Savi."

Maria hung up and Savera started the chilling walk home. After ten long minutes, she was outside the door. She walked in and immediately stripped out of her soaking clothes and pulled on the comfiest sweats she owned and a warm t-shirt. She grabbed her blanket and curled up with the The Goblet of Fire on her beanbag.

Savera wondered what sort of outfit Maria would choose this time. Their little tradition was to alter who chose the club and who chose Savera's outfit. If she chose the club, which she got to do this time, then Maria got to pick her outfit. If Maria chose the club, Savera got to pick her own outfit.

Sav always stayed on the moderate side, never choosing anything too revealing or anything that would make her uncomfortable. Most guys just acknowledged it, and she was happy with it. Maria on the other hand would wear clothes just bordering on full frontal nudity, and she rocked it. She always got a stare from every guy, had someone to dance with every time and always ended up going home with someone, the lucky girl.

She sighed. Savers just didn't feel up to wear another skirt set or some tight body-molding dress.

A knock sounded on the door. Groaning and getting out of her warm cocoon, Savera trudged over and opened the door.

"Maria, that was 20 minutes! How did you get here so fast? And how are you not soaked through?" She gawked at the barely wet Maria, dressed in a pair of tight ripped skinny jeans showing off most of her legs (there was more skin than fabric) and a black windbreaker over a black lingerie bodysuit. Her light brown hair was disheveled as always and in her hands was an intimidating blue duffel bag.

Maria laughed. "I have my ways. Plus the guy walking by me when I got out of the taxi offered to walk to 'a beautiful young girl like me' to her door. Except it's your door."

Savera rolled my eyes. Of course there was a guy involved.

She walked in, pushing past Savera and into the bedroom. Heaving the duffel bag on the bed, she pulled out various articles of clothing, all looking particularly uncomfortable and small.

Maria grinned. "Let's get started."
