Victoria's P.O.V
Victoria jolted up right in her bed. She had the strange feeling that someone was watching her. She looked over at the clock on her bedside table, and let out an exasperated sigh, "4:38 in the morning. Great." It was the eve of the aniversary of her mothers death and she knew she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, so she decided she might as well get up.
Victoria stood in the shower letting the warm water calm her nerves, the feeling that she was being watched wouldn't subside. Suddenly a chill shot up her spine, she felt cold despite the warmth of the water. Then it hit her, a sharp pain in her shoulder, as if someone were scratching her with their nails. She turned quickly to see what had been causing her the pain, but she saw nothing. She arched back when she suddenly felt the warmth of the water return.
She sat in her room, her hair still damp from the shower, shuddering. No matter how many blankets she piled on top of her self she couldn't shake the cold feeling. What was that I felt in shower. She decided the only way to forget about what had just happened was to go on with her day. She got up and tried to find something to wear that didn't reek, from being worn the weeks before.
After finally deciding on a loose fitting knit sweater and some old jeans that were worn thin in the knees. She grabbed her sneakers and rushed down the stairs hoping to avoid the awkward confrontation with her dad. But of course it was inevitable, he sat at the table sipping coffee staring off blankly into the kitchen.
"Dad?" Victoria said, her voice shaking, from memory of the event that had just occurred in the shower.
He jumped up, a little startled, spilling a little of his coffee on the table.
He said in a contentious tone, "Look what you made me do!"
Victoria immediately responded, attempting to avoid an argument, "It was just some coffee, I'll clean it up."
After cleaning up the mess she decided it was best to skip breakfast and head straight to school. She definitely didn't want to stick around and wait for her dad to inevitably break down, he always did this time of year. She snatched the keys to her car off the table and headed out the door to just the start of a set of conflicts and encounters she could never in her life imagine.
