This is a Footloose FanFic I own none of the previous characters/plot lines from the original Footloose or the recent remake.  This is based on the remake released in 2011 with Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough. Hope you like!!

The music just spoke to me.  My body moved in one fluid motion, spinning, stomping, smiling.  Touching her.  Touching Ariel.

She laughed.  We were back, country line dancing, and this time, Willard was actually dancing with Rusty.  Thank God he learned how to dance.

When the song ended, we agreed to go home.  I drove back to Bomont, dropping Willard off, then Rusty, before pulling into Ariel's driveway.

"I had a really great time," she said.

"Me, too," I answered, leaning in to kiss her.  We hadn't seen each other in a year.  We'd both gone to college, and now we were back home for spring break.

"Only a week before I can legally dance.  Excited?" she asked

"Yeah, well, it won't make much of a difference, seeing that we don't follow the law anyway," I replied.

She laughed.  "Night, Ren," she said, stepping out of the car.

"Night Ariel."

I drove home, or where I now thought of as home, with Wes and Lulu and Sarah and Amy.

The next morning, I heard someone knocking on the door.  I was in the kitchen, eating breakfast with the family, and I volunteered to answer it.

"Hi, can I help you?" I asked when I saw a girl standing at the front door.  She looked about fourteen or fifteen, with long brown hair and brown eyes.  She kinda reminded me of Ariel, although Ariel's eyes were blue.

"Ren? Ren MacCormack?" she asked nervously.

"Yeah.  That's me.  Who are you?"

"I'm your sister."

"My what?  I don't have a sister."

"Lynnelle?  Is that you?  Oh, hi sweetie.  I'm Wes," Wes said, sticking t his hand.

"Nice to meet you," she said, shaking his hand.

She came inside, dropping her bags.  Lulu looked up, confused, then recognition crossed her face.

"Lynnelle?"

"Hi, Lulu," she smiled.

"Okay, would somebody please explain what's going on?" I nearly shouted.

"Um, Lynnelle, you're going to have to share a room with Ren, and then maybe you two should talk?" Wes said hopefully.

"Yeah, sure," she answered. Once she put her bags in my room(well, it wasn't a part of the house, exactly...more like a shed outside), I followed her there and closed the door.

"How?  How are yo my sister?  What happened?" I fumed.

"Ren, just listen okay?  My name's Lynnelle, Lynnelle MacCormack.  When your dad, well our dad, left you and your mom after she was diagnosed, he moved and married my mom in New York City.  Then they had me.  But our dad, he alwaysused to talk about you.  How much he loved you.  How much he missed you.  Unfortunately, he didn't used to say such nice things about your mother.  I'm sorry for that.  Anyway, my mom left us when I was eleven.  He's struggled with me ever since.  When Wes called a while ago, saying that you were here in Bomont if I ever wanted to visit, he leapt at the chance to get rid of me.  So now I'm here for the rest of the year.  Just let me get to know you, okay? I want to be a family, Ren.  I really do."

"Okay.  So he just left me and my dying mom to go back to New York and marry someone else?  I can't believe this.  Oh, right, Lynelle.  I forgot you were here.  Okay, let's make this work.  You're a.." I trailed off.

"Freshman."

"A freshman.  Okay, well, then there's four years between us.  Shouldn't be too hard, I guess, for us to learn how to do this brother-sister thing, right?"

"Right," she beamed.

So we talked about her old life in New York City.  She lived on Park Avenue.  Apparently, her mom's family was very wealthy.  She came from a small all-girls prep school, although that's not exactly how she phrased it.  She'd never been to public school before, but she went to dances and stuff.

"Ren? Ren?" Lulu called. "Ariel's here," she said.

"Ariel," I called.  Ariel came into my room.

"Oh, hi," she said when she saw Lynnelle.  "I didn't realize you had company Ren," she said, shooting daggers at me with her eyes.

"Lynnelle, this is my girlfriend Ariel.  Ariel, this is my sister Lynnelle."

"You have a sister? I didn't know that," Ariel said.

"Neither did I," I muttered.

Lynnelle explained her story to Ariel, how we were half-siblings, how she was transferring to Bomont High.

"Wow, New York.  Big city girl coming to a small town.  Bit cliche, isn't it?" Ariel teased.

"Yeah, I guess you could say that," Lynnelle smiled.

"C'mon, I'll show you around town.  Or whatever you want to call the scattered stores and such around here.  But I call it a town.  And home," Ariel said.

"I'd like that Ariel," Lynnelle grinned.  "I think I'm going to like it here."
