we arrived to my school, and i immediately left the car. i knew my mom wanted me to stay with her since we were going inside together, but i just wanted to get this over with as fast as i could.

my mom called for me as i walked ahead of her, i walked to the front door of the school while i waited for my mom i started texting blake.

blake😛: hey buttercup
karley: good day sir
blake😛: did you get into the meeting yet?
karley: nope, waiting for my mom to get up here
karley: she's a really slow walker wow
blake😛: alright well listen i won't be there for the first class, but ill see you around lunch ?
karley: is something wrong?
blake😛: um no no
karley: blake you can tell me anything , okay just tell me
blake😛: honestly karley, it's nothing
karley: okay sorry
blake😛: it's whatever i have to go though
blake😛: bye
karley: see ya ?

i shut off my phone and put it in my back pocket, i have no idea what the hell is wrong with him or why he randomly acted like this. my mom walked up from behind me and told me she was ready to go inside, i slid my student ID card through the slot and went inside with my mom following behind.

we went straight to the office, and immediately we were in the back in the principals office waiting for her.

"ah mrs. peters" a welcoming voice said from behind me and my mother.
my mom stood up reaching her hand out to ms. turner, "please call me beth, nice to see you ms. turner." they shook hands, then my mother sat down in the chair next to me and ms. turner walked around to her desk.
"scarlett" okay well now that my mother and principal are on a first name basis how about we get this whole thing done.

my mother put on her fake business smile, as she sat up straight in her mom jeans and nice blue shirt.

"so beth, you called this meeting ?"
i looked at my mom confused, she put this whole thing together?
"yes, um i just had some questions as to karleys attendance and grades"
ms. turner looked over at me and smiled, she sat up taking in a deep breath.
"well you are raising a wonderful daughter , but karley hasn't been attending her classes recently and her grades arent doing the best either."
my mom looked at me and i messed with my thumbs, it was always a little thing i did when i was nervous.
"is there any extra help we could give her?" my mom looked back at ms. turner with a worried expression on her face.
ms. turner looked at me and sighed "there is extra help after school she could go to"
i stood up, "excuse me but im not going to go to this extra help thing after school"
"karley sit down" my mother said patting the chair i was previously sitting in. i rolled my eyes and sat down with my arms crossed, and let out a big sigh. my mom was about to talk to me but ms. turner spoke before her, "how about a one on one tutor session then?"

i looked at her and mom, i already knew i wasn't leaving this office until i agreed to some type of tutoring.

"okay okay fine, ill do that " i sighed and looked at my mom, she faked a smile looking back at ms. turner.
"great thank you," my mom said.
"okay, so starting tonight after school?"
"actually i can't tonight" i said quietly trying to make my mom not question me as to my plans.
ms. turner looked at me and then my mother, then her computer. she started clicking away onto different sites. it was silent for a moment , before ms. turner spoke up.
"okay, how about tuesday?"
"you don't allow students to tutor over the weekends?" my mom questioned
"well we could , but i figure they always have plans and i don't want to be the one to get in the way of that"
my mother just looked into her lap, embarrassed at the silly question she had asked.
"so does tuesday work for you karley?"
"yes ms.turner, it does "
"great, i will call miranda and tell her you will be meeting with her tuesday at the library "
"wait miranda?" she wasn't talking about blakes ex miranda, right?
"miranda keller? "
oh no she definitely was..
