I expected pain. Lots of it. Being engulfed in a burning ball of flames isn't exactly a peaceful way to go down. Not especially when you're only half a step away from world domination. It wouldn't have been painful if my lover hadn't been the one to 'open my eyes'. But in the end, after promising to start over again and forget my villainy and a heartfelt kiss, she stabbed me with her dagger.
I didn't understand even as she moved towards one of the guys in her group and told him of how disgusting it was to kiss a villain. I looked down at my bleeding stomach when my legs lost their strength. I fell to my knees as blood flowed down my chin. She kissed him and, more than anger, I felt hurt. Wasn't she the one who suggested taking over the world? Wasn't she the one who spoke of how nice it would be to be dictators?
I wanted to make a request but would that hero team even listen? Before I die, I want to see my garden. Even if just for a split second, I want to see my treasures one last time. I looked up in time to see an enormous fireball making its way towards me and leaving a trail of ash. I couldn't shake off the shock not even to spare a look at my ex-lover. This was the end.
But...as it turns out...I'm still alive.
