*Kol’s POV*
It’s seems that everyone around me is getting engaged or married. Hell, they all are. Two of my brothers and even my freaking sister is married. Then there’s me, the baby of the family, not married and single AGAIN. I can’t even remember what I did, but it pissed Skylar off and now she won’t even look at me with yelling at me. Life sucks and guess what, since the white oak stakes are all gone, I can’t die. Like ever! I am sulking in the middle of the field, when Kenzi finds me.
“Hey Kol, what’s wrong?” She asks, sitting beside me.
“I pissed off Sky again and now all she does is yell at me.” I sigh and look away from Kenzi’s pitiful eyes.
“Just give Sky some time. Okay?” She stands up and walks inside to find Stefan. I fall back and look at the clouds. Lucy comes out and looks at me.
“Will you just quit sulking and just suck it up? Skylar needs someone strong, because she is so independent! Just go get her you little idgit!” Lucy shouts at me, and then skips after a butterfly happily. I think she finds amusement in violence and annoying everyone she can. It’s either that or she’s bipolar and has severe physiological issues. Or maybe it’s both. Let’s go with option one, okay? Good. I see Skylar walking outside, deep in conversation with Klaus. Wait, what? Klaus? Since when does Skylar go to Klaus for advice? Who knows? I decide to eavesdrop as I hide in the tall grass.
“Sky, do you love him?” Klaus asks.
“I’ve never loved someone more in my life, but god other times. I just want to dagger him and stuff him in a box.” Skylar replies aggravated.
“Well, then Skylar. You’re in love. Skylar, I know for a fact he loves you too. He’s also new to this. You have to learn to love his mistakes. It’s gonna be hard, but just forgive him. Mostly because I’m sick of him sulking and pouting, but also because you two are perfect together.” Klaus sighs, explaining the situation. Skylar nods and continues to walk away from the house, but Klaus runs over to me. “Now Kol, while she’s still in love with you! Go!” He hisses. I race after Sky. I stop her and stand in front of her.
“Skylar…” I start.
“Kol, I forgive you.” She blurts.
“Thank god.” I kiss her gently on the lips. “Now listen, I know I’m not perfect. Hell, I’m far from it, but I do know one thing. That is that I love you more than anything in this world. More than my brothers, more than my sister, and more than the girls. I have never loved anyone more than I love you. And that’s why I want you to ask you something. I know you aren’t ready for marriage, so I’ll wait, but I want to ask something of you. Just let me get through this before you try and kill me okay?” I tell her.
“Okay, I’ll let you finish.” A small smirk appearing on her lips. That’s my girl. I get down on one knee.
“Will you Skylar Elizabeth Jackson, so me the honor of wearing this promise ring until the day I swear to replace it with an engagement ring?” I ask her.
“I will.” Her eyes fill with tears. I know that she knows that this is a huge step for me, because I have never really been committed to someone. “God, I love you so much.” She kisses me on the lips quickly. I kiss back quickly and pull away after a minute. She’s perfect for me.
“I love you too Sky and promise me no matter what I do, you won’t leave me. Because if I lose you, that’s losing my humanity.” I admit slowly.
“I promise Kol, there’s no way I’m losing you.” She promises me and intertwines her fingers with mine. I hear the sound of footsteps. I see everyone grinning at us. Lucy skips forward and socks me in the arm.
