(Y/N) pov

As I entered the guild hall, I sat down on one of the only free tables. I looked around the large building that I called home and spotted as always, Natsu and Gray trying to kill each other, Elfman talking about how to be a man and Erza eating her favorite cheesecake. What was unusual however was that Laxus was here.

He was always on missions and you rarely saw him. I haven't talked to him since he discovered his lightning power which was one of the reasons I pushed him out of my life.

Laxus was the only one who was able to make me smile after my parents death, but after finding out about his new power I pushed him away. Why? Because that power was the very one that killed my parents. Just the memory made tears spring to my eyes but I quickly blinked them away.

I didn't realise I was staring at Laxus until he met my gaze. His eyes widened for a moment before going back to normal. I quickly broke our staring contest suddenly very interested in my nails. Even though I couldn't see him, I could feel him approach my table.
"Hey (Y/N). How are you?" He said softly as he sat down next to me.

I looked up at his face but stared at anything other than his eyes.
"I've been better."

I suddenly stood up and walked away from him and his powers. Even though it wasn't his lightning that killed my parents, I just couldn't bring myself to talk to him. Not yet.

I decided to go for a stroll in the city. Clouds started gathering up in the sky. And suddenly I heard thunder. I hated storms. They reminded me of my family's death. Each time the sky turned grey, I always went to the cemetery so I could be next to them. It calmed me down a bit while I waited for the storm to pass.

Laxus pov

I am so frustrated. She was the only true friend I had but for some reason she pushed me away. I always tried to get her to talk, but all she could do was give me a simple reply before walking away. My grandpa slowly walked towards the table.
"Laxus. What's wrong?"

I looked at him and said:
"It's (Y/N). Why does she always push me away?! I want her to be friends with me again, to laugh at my lame jokes, to ruffle my hair like she used to when we were younger but she's become so cold."
"Hmm, maybe she just can't help it boy. Think about it, the relation between you and her past".

He walked away leaving me to think about what he said and I finally understood. I abruptly stood up and headed out of the guild hall. I ignored everyone's calls to come back because of the rain, I had to find her.

(Y/N)'s pov

I was near my parents tombstone when I suddenly heard his familiar voice calling my name. I didn't reply, I just emptily stared at my parents graves.

Laxus came running at me, his whole body dripping wet.
"What are you doing out here?" He asked as he touched my arm.
"You're freezing! We have to get you inside."
"Leave me alone."
"No, let me help you. I-"
"Stop!" By this time the tears were pouring down my face just like the rain.
"I'm...I'm sorry I pushed you away Laxus but each time I see you it reminds me of that terribly day and I can't..." I couldn't even finish my sentence, I was crying so hard. Suddenly I was embraced by warmth as I felt his muscular arms wrap my shivering body.

Suddenly, a huge lightning stroke and I couldn't help but let out a yelp and cry even harder in Laxus's chest. In a hushed voice he cooed:
"I can make it go away
(Y/N) you know why?" I shook my head still buried in his chest.
"Because I control it." He let go of me with one arm, the other that he pointed to the sky. Lightning came out of his hand and hit the sky and all of a sudden, the sun reappeared.

By now I had calmed down quite a bit as Laxus had me once again in his arms.

Laxus' pov

She whispered a small "thank you" which I found totally adorable. I placed my hand on her cheek and forced her to look at me.
"I would do anything for you" i said as my eyes traveled from her absorbing (E/C) eyes to her beautiful lips. When our lips finally crashed together, sparks exploded all over my body. We had to pull back for air and we were both panting.
"I swear to you (Y/N) that one day you will no longer fear lightning, you will love it because I love you.
