The Scientist and The Alpha
By
If you give someone the power to bring you great happiness, that person can bring you just as much pain.
When Jacqueline Torres left for college at eleven, too young and too bright and too alone, this was the only lesson she had learnt from the cold, snide man who had donated half her genetic material.
Now, she's twenty-three, and a highly respected lycanthropologist, breaking ground in the study of werewolves.
But, one night, she gets drinks one, two, five glasses of wine, and she slops together an article about the cons of having a mate, a recipe for disaster in a society dominated by werewolves.
And then shit goes down.
~
Imagine you've gone for years hoping to meet your mate, but that hope slowly, steadily dwindles down to nothing. Alpha Damon doesn't like interacting with humans, because all of them believe that as a werewolf, you're guaranteed to meet your mate.
And then he reads an article about why you shouldn't have a mate. And the funny part, is the article is by a human. So he goes to visit her.
You can imagine what happens next.
