The polar water blanketed my body as I waited for the seamless wave. There it was. A tall body of water accelerated towards me. This was my chance. I turned my board, facing the beach and started to paddle. I constantly reminded myself Focus, just focus Nina. You can do it. The tail of my board got picked up by the monstrous wave. I got to my knees. This is progress. I crouched onto my feet while my hands tightly griped onto the board. I grasped my balance and straightened my legs. In the distance, the crowd's erupted with enthusiasm. The corners of my mouth found themselves turning upright. My foot moved slightly. The one place I didn't wax. Abruptly, my eyes roll backwards. The impact between my neck and the board shuddered throughout my body. The frigid liquid engulfed my. The world I knew caved in upon my until all I could see was darkness.
