Vik woke up, struggling to blink his eyes properly. They were sore, blurry as he took in his surroundings. He had hoped a sleep would make him feel better about the whole situation yet his heart still hurt. Everything still hurt.

At some point, a blanket had been laid over him and he had vague memories of falling asleep on Harry. Embarrassed, he untangled his feet from the blanket and pushed himself off the sofa.

He knew the house well enough to find the kitchen though he had never been upstairs. Jide was lent against Simon, his head on the taller boys shoulder as they chuckled at something on Simon's phone. Vik rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, not wanting to break the moment. Before long, Jide's eyes flicked up and caught Vik's gaze. He sat up straight, grinning.

"Hi, Vik!" Vik smiled in response, sitting down opposite the couple. He couldn't help but feel strange around them sometimes knowing he almost came between them. He's just glad they had ended up together.

Simon wasn't the one for Vik anyway, he was caught up in attention and fooled himself to feel like they were more than friends.

"Plates are here," Simon opened a cupboard, bringing Vik back to the real world instead of his head. "Food in these," Simon gestured,
opening one to bring out some cereal. As he was speaking, Jide dodged around him to open the fridge and hand Vik some milk and a spoon. "And cutlery is there." Simon finished, both of them sitting back down.

"Thank you," Vik mumbled, embarrassed that they were looking after him so much. He was grateful though, he couldn't ask for a nicer group of people to accept him so readily. "What happened last night?"

"You fell asleep on Harry, he stayed a while but had to leave. We put your stuff in your room," Josh entered and opening a tub of Pringles.

"My room?" Vik questioned, closing the milk and picking up a spoon of cereal. He could barely believe he was this lucky.

"I'll show you later!" Jide exclaimed. He was excited to have someone new in the house, he always enjoyed when people were around.

Josh watched as Vik nodded, looking down at his cereal and pushing it around with his spoon. They already knew he was timid but he hadn't thought about how out of place he must feel. He hoped they could make him feel welcome.
