Hi I'm Rose. And today is my fist day at a new high school, I'm in tenth grade. And right now I feel the same as other teenager who had to move to a new state in the middle of the school year. When that alarm first beeps in your ears at six in the morning than you feel like crap. Either way the law requires me to go to school, so I roll out of bed and turn off my alarm that is set on my phone that is charging on my dresser. I walk over to the mirror in the bathroom that's across the hall from my bedroom. I look in the mirror at my eyes. One green one blue. Ugh. Why can't I just have matching eyes like everybody else. I splash some water on my face to wake myself up, then I reach for my contacts. I always wear a blue contact in my green eye to match them up. I'm out! No! no! no! I can not be out of contacts. I move to a new state so no one knows me then I run out of contacts. No! This is the wrong day for this. "Mom! I am out of contacts!" I yell. "Your mom is at work Pal." My dad said to me. He always calls me Pal or Bud or Buddy. "Besides you don't need your contacts. You look perfect." Ugh. He is always so optimistic sometimes I swear he's high. But no he doesn't do drugs and says alcohol is for people who can't be happy without it and he is perfectly happy on his own. I roll my eyes. And I brush my thick long dark black hair. And put on deodorant.
Then I walk into the kitchen. And because it's the middle of winter I make hot chocolate and toast for breakfast.
After that I walk back to the bathroom and floss and brush my teeth. Then I take a small plastic cup and fill it with mouthwash. I swish that in my mouth for about thirty seconds and spit. Then I rinse my mouth with water. I look back up at my eyes. Ugh.
Then I walk back to my bedroom. I get dressed. I put on a turquoise t-shirt with my favorite Set It Off zip up hoody. Set It Off is my favorite rock band. Then I pull up some dark blue jeans. I pull my phone off of its charger and slip it into my front right pocket. I always put it in that pocket of my jeans.
After that I pull on my black boots that make me look like I belong in Terminator. Then I walk out the door. My dad is scrapping the ice off of his car. "You know dad, if we didn't leave Florida you wouldn't have this problem." I say in a sassy tone. "Your just upset you have to go to a new school in the middle of the school year. And you ran out of contacts." He said it so smug I almost stole his scarf. Ugh. "Are you sure you wanna go to school by yourself? I could give you a ride." I look at his car layered in ice. "No thanks. I'd rather not ride with a mad man in a refrigerator." My dad smiled. We always have comeback competitions. "That was a good one." Then I grabbed my bike. It was pure black. I said bye to my dad, put in my ear buds (which were playing a Set It Off song) and rode off on my bike.
By the time I got to school my hands were freezing and I couldn't feel my toes. I threw my long hair over one eye. My green one. Then I walked into my school. My backpack was heavy with books. I love to read. Then I pulled out a piece of paper with my new schedule, locker number, and combination. I went to my new locker and put in my stuff.
Then I start walking to my first class. Ugh. Math class. I walk up the stairs and the bell rings. Every one started rushing to their classes. Not noticing me. So far so good. I walk into my class. My teacher, Mrs. Kree, showed me where I sit. Then the final bell rang, and I pulled out my ear buds. Then Mrs. Kree started talking and I stopped listening. I played some songs in my brain and started sketching on my homework paper.
Next bell next class. History. I walk down the stairs and to my history class. The teacher, Mr. Meese, showed me where I sit. And the final bell. This teacher is actually pretty fun. Their learning about American independence and Mr. Meese put on a plastic crown and pretended to be the kind of Britain. Haha. Soon enough the bell rang.
Next class drama. Back up the stairs. Geese this school is gonna make me lose thirty pounds if I walk like this everyday. The drama teacher, Mrs. Sweet, is very hyper and let me sit where I want. Cool. So she shows me which seats are taken and I choose one. Unfortunately for me, Mrs. Sweet makes me stand up in front of the class and introduce myself. Ugh. Then, after I choose a monologue to perform the bell rings.
Then it's gym class. I walk back down the stairs and in to the gym. We play volleyball which I'm not to bad at. But when i tried to dive for the valley hair moved out if my face and everyone saw my eyes. They all just stared. I moved my hair back in my face. "Nice try we already saw." Yelled a kid named Chris. Ugh. Chris had a short blond Mohawk and the tips are dyed green. Then I asked the teacher for the hall pass and ran into the restroom. I splashed my face with water trying to calm myself. Then as I walked into the gym the bell rang. Yes! I returned the hall pass and went to lunch.
I packed my own lunch, but I didn't eat. I lost my appetite. So I threw it away and walked up the stairs into the library. I sat down and opened one of my books. Then Chris and Josh walked into the library and sat down next to me. Josh on my right and Chris on my left. Josh has dark brown hair with frosted tips. Ugh. I stood up and tried to walk away, but Josh jumped in my way. "Excuse me." I say quietly. Then he grins and his hand reaches towards my face to move my hair. I lightly smack his hand away. "Aw, c'mon. Lemme see." He said. Ugh. "No!" I say and try to walk around him, but he grabs my arm. I shove him away and he falls into a chair, he looks kind of dazed. I guess he didn't see that coming. Then I power walk out of there. And back down the stairs.
My next class is science with Ms. Brown. It's not that bad. Even though a few kids did stare at me. Ugh. I guess word gets around fast here.
Then I have Spanish III. This one I didn't have to walk up the stairs. Yes. There are some twelfth grade boys in there that are loud and annoying. Apparently none of the people in this school have heard of Set It Off. So they all question my jacket. I would kill to go back to Tampa, Florida. Then the bell rang. But not before I got homework. Ugh.
Then it's my final class of the day. English. Great! So I walk up the stairs. When I walk into the class I see Chris and Josh and two other boys talking to each other. Chris rushed over to me saying, "Rose! Rose! Hey Rose!" While waving at me like a mad man. "Go away Chris!" I say. "But my friends wanna see." He whines. "To bad. Now go away." I walk away and sit where the teacher, Ms. Kettle, told me to. And sure enough it's right between Chris and Josh. Ugh. I can not get out of this class soon enough. Ms. Kettle said that we can work in groups. And sure enough Josh and Chris put me in their group. Ugh. Then Josh tried to move my hair again. "Don't touch me!" I say in a cruel tone. Josh makes this dumb pouting face. Ugh. I glare at him. Chris smirks. Ugh. All we are supposed to do is talk about some book. Bell please ring. Then after what seems like forever, the bell rings. Yes!
I rush to get all of my stuff out of my locker. Then I power walk out of the school. When I reach my bike the first things I see are two faces. Can you guess who's? Did you guess Josh and Chris. If so you are correct. Ugh. "Leave me be." I say coldly. Chris smirks. Ugh I hate that smirk. "Oh. Sorry, we didn't know this was your bike." He said and winked. "He's winking because we did know this was your bike." Said Josh over exited. Ugh. I'm not gonna waste my time with these nitwits. I shove them away from my bike and ride home as fast as I can.Hey guys and gals. So for those of you who didnt read the discription i will give a shout out to anyone who leaves in the comments whatever is hard in their life. And because of this i will only update after i get at least 4 people who tell me. And please rember this is a safe zone. Love you all!
