Early the next morning I packed my simple black suitcase, and nanny repacked it for me. According to her I couldn't do it right, I'd need to fit everything I owned into this one bag. That should be easy, I didn't own much. I had seven T-shirts, two skirts and a pair of a jeans, my bras and panties and a jacket I'd never even worn as I'd never left this house since I arrived in it. I'd have to leave behind all my books, except the two I could fit into the bag. I'd chosen two of my favorites I couldn't live without, Charlotte's web and Alice in wonderland. With no friends or anything else to occupy my time I lived in my books. They had become my escape from this tower.

I watched nanny zip up basically my whole existence in that small suitcase and carry it out of my room. Taking one last look around the stark white walls before following her, I opened the closet door, smiling stepping inside kneeling down tracing the drawings I had done when I first arrived. I had made myself an outside, on the inside. Trees as tall as my five year old arms could reach at the time, the floor scribbled green to be like grass across the old floorboards, some fading blue in-between each tree. Nanny came up to find me making my little spot and started to yell and carry on until she saw the fear and confusion in my young face as tears started to well in my blue eyes. She scooped me up into her old arms and rocked me until I fell asleep against her.

I sighed and stood back up, closing the closet door behind me softly. Saying one final goodbye to my childhood as I walked out the door following nanny to the waiting car, stopping just as I reached the door. I smiled nervously stepping one foot out onto the soft green grass, pulling my shoes off dropping them as I put my other foot in. Closing my eyes wiggling my toes in the grass and dirt, taking slow deep breaths. I didn't know when I would be allowed out again, I just wanted to savor this moment as long as possible. Looking back towards the SUV I saw nanny just standing there watching me with with sadness in her eyes. Smiling grabbing my shoes I ran over to her, hugging her smiling. "Don't be sad nanny I'm free now! I'm free..." I told her excitedly, looking confused as she just reached up to touch my pale cheek and give me a sad smile. Climbing into the car after her, jumping as someone shut the door behind us, but I couldn't see anyone through the wall in front of us as we started off.
