Last day of high school.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
"Everybody say cheese!"
"CHEESE!"
Cameras flashed. Toga hats were thrown. It was a bittersweet moment, as it might be the last time we would be complete as a batch. Being 18, non-athletic, and a typical gamer, I wasn't much of a stand-out, as I was more of a mix between a wallflower and a go-with-the-flow type of dude, depending on my mood. I never really had close friends but it wasn't like I was worried. I felt comfortable that way.
I went on home deciding that I won't come to the after-grad party since my girlfriend decided not to go either.
Shiela. The love of my life.
Radiant green eyes, long and flowing black hair, standing the same height as I am, about 5'5"
She was sweet, kind...
scratch it,
SHE'S PERFECT!
For my tastes, anyways.
It was 7P.M. I was alone in my room playing computer games with Incubus playing in the background. The song Drive played and I suddenly felt sick to the stomach. I felt the urge to see Shiela. There was someting that wasn't in place. I went downstairs and grabbed a glass of water. I then went to tell my Mom that I would go to the party.
"Are you sure you'd go dressed just like that?", Mom pointing at my torn jeans, hoodie get-up."Meh, this is fine, I'm not gonna stay long anyway", I replied.
"You forgot your helmet!", Mom scolded.
"It's not that far, besides, I won't be heading to the city proper, it's just a few blocks away.", I told her.
"Be careful, honey.", she replied.
"Yes, mom. See you at 10.", I assured her.
I went on to ride on my scooter, as the party was about 5 blocks away from my house.I never really knew why I decided to go to the party when I had the urge to look for Shiela. I just had the feeling that she wasn't in her house.
It was Paul's house, Shiela's ex-boyfriend, where the after-grad party was held. There were people drinking, eating, hanging by the pool, dancing to the music. I saw many familiar faces and I greeted them but the looks in their faces looked like they were shocked to see me.
"Is it really that surprising that I'd attend this party?", I thought to myself.
I was heading towards the living room when I saw it.
Shiela making out with Paul.
They wouldn't have stopped if Shiela didn't notice me.
"Oh my God, Carm! What're you doing here?", Shiela asked.
Words were no longer necessary. I stormed out of Paul's house. As I was heading towards my scooter, Shiela was in pursuit. She grabbed me by the shoulder but I shrugged her off.The last words I heard from her was, "Carm! Come back! Please!"
I was pissed.
I drove off the city proper and broke my promise to mom. I found the nearest bar and grabbed a drink.
Three liter bottles of beer. In 1 hour. All alone. I was drunk.
I then went on to ride my scooter.
That was the last thing I remembered.
