Your POV

It had been months since you had last seen Edward Kenway. He had left you in Great Inagua with the promise of a swift return and a pile of gold.

That was seven months ago and ever since then you had been attending the finances of Great Inagua and making sure the town stayed somewhat free of British influence. The job usually involved multiple fights, but you loved a good fight. It was what had first landed you with Kenway's crew, after fighting a member of his crew and winning Kenway had offered you a place with the crew, and at first you were reluctant, but soon after settling down on the Jackdaw and beating up a few members of the crew who tried to get a little to close you became like a sister to the crew.

You were an excellent fighter and could beat the best of the crew, but despite how good of a fighter you were you loved pulling pranks and joking with the crew. Your pranks usually were pretty funny and were seen as childish, but you didn't care, it was what you were well known amongst the crews for and it was what gave them all the impression of your carefree attitude. You guessed it was all your pranks that got you noticed by the captain, especially when he was the target of one of your pranks.

You had switched his hidden blades with a training pair Kidd had given you for the prank and had stolen his real ones and wore them. Kenway had not been amused, but he couldn't do much, he had eventually caught you and sparred with you over them, but after half a day of sparring with no winner you called truce and left it at that, although he did get his revenge by making you clean the deck for a week afterwards. In your opinion it was worth it, especially because you got some extra reales out of it from several members of the crew, all of them claiming you had earned it for flustering the captain.

It was a good memory and you were slightly happy, but looking back on it, you regretted it, maybe if you had not done that your heart wouldn't ache so much. You were a fool and even more of one to fall in love with the captain, it was a mistake and you knew that, but you stupidly didn't care.

You were now paying for that mistake, you were nursing a broken heart and it had hardened you. You no longer played pranks and your usual carefree attitude had changed to something more serious, your once playful words had sharpened into taunts that could make the strongest of men feel pitiful.

The talent had helped you tremendously and you were well respected throughout the town and feared for your fighting. Kidd had helped you with that and was even hoping you would be an assassin, and you were planning on it. Kidd had even convinced Ah-Tabai to give you robes and hidden blades while you dealt with things in Great Inagua.

Kidd understood your heartache, but she also knew you were past it, she had even helped you disguise yourself as a man while in your robes, and it had helped you tremendously. Now you could slip into taverns without being noticed and could even enjoy yourself without being hit on, although it was known that anyone who hit on you ended up with a broken nose.

But that was besides the point, you were still in Great Inagua for one reason and once that reason was over you would leave for Tulum, until then you were working the books of Inagua and making sure soldiers were dealt with. Hard work that left you with wounds and scars everywhere, however the most prominent one you had was one you had received while sailing with the Jackdaw, it was the remnants of the injury that had led to your current situation.

You had raided a Spanish ship and one soldier managed to make his way to the powder kegs before he could be stopped and after realizing the situation you had pushed one of your crewmates overboard in an attempt to save his life, and in the process the ship had exploded with you on it. You had risked your life and in return you had been saved from the water.
