Daniel's POV
After Elaine and I got into my truck, I started it as fast as possible, eager to meet her.
"Daniel?"
"Yes?"
"What does she smell like?"
I can't even describe it.
"She smells like vanilla. And lavender. It smells amazing. Smells better than any perfume in the whole world."
That pretty much sums it up. I wonder if she's a wolf like me. Probably not. If she was she would've already been with me already. Maybe she's part wolf? No, that's impossible. I've never met a hybrid before.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Stuff."
"Like...?"
"Do you think she's part wolf? I think that if she was, she would already be with me right now."
"True. But, I don't think hybrids exist. At least not anymore."
"Yeah, but it's possible. Like, even if she isn't, were still destined to be together. But, if she is. it would make this easier."
"You're right."
"Alright, the smell is getting stronger, she should be here somewhere."
It's raining so this is making it a little bit harder to see and smell her.
"Is that her?"
"Where?!"
"Over there!"
That's her.
"C'mon Elaine! That's her!"
"Okay okay!"
Once we were at her door step, Elaine knocked, because I would've busted the door down.
"Hi- Veronica?"
"Oh my god! Alpha Daniel! Elaine! This is a pleasant surprise."
"Veronica, what are you doing in South Carolina? I thought you lived in California?"
"I got a job over here. Harmony and I just got here."
Elaine? Ask her where Harmony is. I'll tear this place apart if I have to to find her.
"Speaking of Harmony, where is she? We haven't seen her in so long."
"Okay, sure. Daniel, sweetie? Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm just a little cold from the rain."
"Oh, well come in. I don't want our Alpha to freeze to death."
Just get it over with already.
"Hey Mom?! Do you sme-"
"MATE!"
Dainel! What the fuck?!
"Mom? Who are these people?"
Her voice. It's so beautiful.
"Oh well, um, Harmony, it's a long story."
"Hello, Harmony. I'm Elaine, and this is my brother Daniel. Your mom is a friend of our parents. They told us that she was moving over here, so we came to say hello, since we haven't seen her in so long."
"Yeah, I had no idea they were coming."
"O...kay? Um, I'm Harmony, I guess. It's nice to meet you."
It's nice to meet you, too.
We should leave.
NO! We are staying.
You're making this awkward. Stop staring at her.
I can do whatever I want. She's MY mate.
Yeah, but she doesn't know that.
Just don't say anyth-
"Okay, well we should get goi-"
Fuck you.
"No! Stay for dinner. Plus, it's raining really hard out there, we don't want anything to happen to you two. Especially not our Alpha."

"Alpha? What's an Alpha?"

"Sorry, I meant to say friends."
"Alright, then. I'm gonna go change into something more presentable."
I'll come with you.
Daniel. Stop. Stay.
"Okay, sweeatheart."
What just happened?
"So, Alpha. My daughter is your mate?"
"Uh, yeah. I guess."
"Yes! I knew it. When you two were small you were so close."
"I know. I had a feeling too, Daniel."
Wait, what?
"I don't remember."
"I do, each time I would bring her over you would get so excited."
"Yeah, for some reason I remember too."
"Well, if my daughter is going to be together then, treat her right. I can't believe my daughter is going to be the new Luna. This is so exciting!"
