Now, I was on a flight back home. I haven't stepped foot in Arizona since I officially enrolled at U of M. My parents came and visited me during holidays and over breaks. I stayed in Michigan to work and enjoy the cooler summers. With heaviness in my heart, I came to terms with the reality that my reprieve was over.

"Carolyn...Caaroolyn!!" My bubbly little sister was jumping up at down at the baggage claim. She sprinted towards me the stopped tentatively before me. I reached out and wrapped my arms protectively around her. God, I missed her. She is so grown up now. When I left she was in elementary school, fifth grade to be exact. Now, she was fifteen and going into tenth grade. "Don't leave me like that again. I missed you so much. Mom and Dad are so protective and I can't do anything!"

"Laurelli, I love you and missed you too. However, I don't think that is going to get any better even with my being home." I draped my arm over her shoulders and tucked her into my side. Pride swelled in my heart as I gazed at her. She truly was amazing. It is crazy how much you can miss a person even when you talked to them everyday and Skyped on Sunday's. Even with being across the country, I was able to watch my sister grow up. Nothing was the same as being home though. "How about you and I going to the movies tonight?" I suggested.

"Oh, Yes!! Jurassic World is out at theaters now. Do you remember watching the Jurassic series on Netflix? We always had so much fun. You would chase me around roaring!"

"Sounds good, but no roaring."

"ROOOOAARRR!!" Laurelli roared at me for about fiftieth time since we left the theater. I guess she was making up for lost time or relieving a great childhood memory. Anyway it was, I was going to let her have her moment.

"Hey, Laur, what are you doing Monday? I have my interview Monday at noon, but after I'm free. Do you want to go get mani/pedis?"

"EEKK! I would love that! Having my sister home rocks. What are you up to tomorrow?"

"I was planning on going out with some friends from high school. I haven't hardly seen anybody since, well, you know." I glanced over at her to see her reaction. Trying to gauge whether or not she was okay with the news and the topic. "I think we are going dancing. Sara's picking me up. Do you remember her?"

"Sure do, she's the blonde one right?"

"Right."
