Hi, it me again. I've been gone for a while, but I'm back. If you've read my other stories, you'll know that so far I've only written amourshipping. This story is going to be an advanceshipping one, sorry if that's disappointing, but recently I've really been into it. This story may have similarities to the anime, but also be different.

It was a windy day in Kanto when, from a house with several boxes being loaded onto a truck, two aspiring teenagers stepped out, ready to face the world. The first was a relatively tall boy, with longish lack hair, brown eyes, and and excited grin. He wore long, dark blue pants, and a light blue, short sleeved jacket with white stripes, and a black shirt underneath. The second was a pretty girl, with long brown hair, who wore a red skirt and a blue top, with long blue socks coming almost up to her knees. The pair walked down the path which went past the front of the house from which they emerged, quickly making their way towards a large house on a hill nearby. When they reached the doorway, it was opened by well known Pokemon researcher, Professor Oak.

"Ash! Leaf! Come in, come in." The professor ushered the two in, and led them into a large room, with large and complex machines lining the far wall. A young man came forward as Professor Oak entered the room, handing Professor Oak a tray, on it being three Pokeballs.

"Even though the pair of you are leaving, and won't be journeying through Kanto, after the help you've given me around the lab over the years, I'd like to give each of you your first Pokemon.

"Really?!" Ash said. Even though he, and his sister Leaf had been told this by their mother earlier, the prospect of a Pokemon was a dream come true. Leaf nodded excitedly beside Ash.

"Of course. The only dilemma, who would like to choose first?" Professor Oak looked at the two of them. Leaf raised her eyebrow at Ash, and Ash sighed, while grinning, and stepped back. Leaf smiled as she stepped forward.

"We already thought this might happen, so we decided to settle it early this morning, while we were watching a match on TV. Ash lost." Leaf grinned. Professor Oak smiled, and then took the three poke balls, and released the Pokemon inside. Facing the siblings were three Pokemon. The first was a small green Pokemon with a bulb on its back. The second was red Pokemon, with aflame on its tail. The third was a blue, turtle like Pokemon.

"Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Who would you like, Leaf. Leaf stared at the three Pokemon, thinking long and hard. After a minute she nodded.

"Professor, I'd like... Charmander, please."

"Very well!"Professor Oak said, handing Leaf Charmander's pokeball, as Charmander let out an excited "Char!"

"Hi buddy." Leaf crouched down and scratched her new companion on the head, before accepting the pokeball from the professor, and thanking him.

"Along with your new Charmander, I also have five pokeballs for you."

"Thank you so much Professor." Leaf stood, her Charmander beside her. She gestured for Ash to choose.

"Your turn Ash." Professor Oak said.

"Okay..." Ash looked at the two remaining Pokemon, only to suddenly hear a smash behind him. Ash turned to see a small yellow Pokemon emerge from a doorway pursed by a flustered assistant, desperately trying to return him to his pokeball. The Pokemon narrowly avoided Leaf, and skidded through Ash's legs, before leaping up some of onto some of the machinery in the room.

"I'm sorry Professor, Pikachu really isn't a fan of his pokeball." The assistant said as he tried to return Pikachu once more. Pikachu desperately leapt away from his perch on the machinery, and landed on Ash's head. The professor stopped the assistant, and took Pikachu's pokeball.
