"C'mon!" Phil said running to the park entrance. Phil was beyond excited. He had to be to actually run.
Dan laughed between breaths at his internal joke. The cold air bit his lungs as he tried to keep up. It was midnight and Phil insisted that they go to the local playground.
They had already been out for drinks that night, maybe too many by the looks of Phil.
He laughed again. Regardless of his resistance to the childish situation he was in, he couldn't say no to Phil. For anyone else, it could've been his bright blue puppy eyes, but for him, it ran a little deeper.
He loved him and love wasn't a word he threw around often, unlike his flatmate. Phil seemed to love loads of things, he even said that he loved Dan. Platonically, of course. Dan hadn't really loved too much. It didn't make his love more worth while than Phil's but rather rarer.
He finally caught up with him on the swing sets, sitting in the swing besides his. For a long while, he listened to his friend's giggles in silence but was jolted out of his thoughts when Phil spoke up.
"I love you, you know that?"
Dan wasn't even shocked. He just rolled his eyes and chuckled. "I'm aware. You've told me, remember?"
Phil shook his head harshly. "Nuh uh. I mean love, love."
Dan stopped his swing.
"Like the hold hands and fuck love." Phil said in a fit of giggles.
"Oooookay. Someone is maybe a bit too drunk. Let's get you home, I'm calling a cab." He said mentally slapping himself for thinking anything serious was going to come from him.
"You'll have to catch me first!" He said springing from the swing and running into the playground. Dan groaned and followed after him. He chased him through the park, almost running right into the bridge.
He began panting and wondering if he was worth it. He then imaged kids coming to the park next morning to find a half naked, hungover man in the tube slide. He'd probably catch pneumonia too in this weather. He was surprised it wasn't snowing yet.
He finally caught with him because he got stuck at the top of the "tower" that was part of the playground. He freed Phil's arms from in-between the metal bars.
"Awwwe, why are you being such a fun ruiner?" He said trying to escape.
"Because someone has to be." He sighed
"I'll give you a kiss if you let me stay." Phil said pushing him on one of the support poles, grinning as seductively as an almost black out drunk guy could.
"As great as that sounds,"Dan said distancing himself "I'm gonna have to pass." He pulled his phone out of his pocket and called a cab. The guy on the line said that it'd be almost a half hour before he'd get there. Dan did his best to not groan out loud as he hung up.
"Go ahead and tire yourself out" He said, letting Phil go. He watched as he ran around the park, playing on everything that he wasn't too tall to be on, which was pretty much just the monkey bars.
Even so he managed to climb on the monkey bars, only to fall off and get a face full of wood chips. Dan would've been worried but he got up and started running to the next thing.
Phil was almost passed out when the guy arrived. He didn't fight with him as they made they're way to the entrance and into the cab. He gave the cabbie his address and buckled Phil and himself in. Phil tiredly rested his head on his shoulder.
He pondered if he should take a picture of him but figured that'd be a little creepy.
When they finally arrived at the flat he sighed in relief. He paid the cabbie and practically carried Phil upstairs silently hoping no one saw him and thought he was kidnapping him.
He took him into the kitchen and managed to get him to drink a glass of water before laying him in bed. He covered him in his duvet and was about to leave when Phil clutched on to his shirt.
"Don't goooooo." He whined
Dan sighed. Maybe giving in this once wouldn't be so bad. He got under the covers and Phil wrapped his arms around him. He felt his body light up as his face went red.
He guess he would have to explain this in the morning but right now, he was too exhausted to think of upcoming consequences.
As he drifted off to sleep, he imagined a world where nights were always like this.

A/N- I thought this was longer when I finished this and now I'm disappointed in it. I spent like 3 hours on this??? The hell???
ANYWAYS.
I'm back! I had been in and out of some mental hospitals for a while so I haven't had time to write. Surprisingly this wasn't a smut but I am working on one soon.I also may or may not work on an extra chapter for the therapist story *wink wonk* but that's later.
Glad to be back.
