Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Semi-logue
(get it, its set in between his death and his return. So its a prologue and a sequel.... My teacher liked it 😊)

I'm lying on something hard, hard and rough. My body feels like it has moulded to it. Like I ran at a high speed and flattened myself into it. But what is it?

I open my eyes to see that it's rock. I can feel it digging into my body, like its stabbing me. But it doesn't hurt. It doesn't feel like anything. I'm on my stomach, I want to be on my back. I begin to roll over and my pain sensors suddenly decide to kick in. It stabs my entire body, from my forehead to my toes. I complete my roll and land on my back. I can see up now. Rocky walls form up either side of me. It's night and the sky is black with clouds. High above me is a building, a palace over looking the rock. It's all lit up and is sparkling. I have to squint but I can see that a window is broken.

I lie there for a while, trying to take in more details of the place, before I realise something. I have absolutely no idea where I am.

With a lot of effort I manage to sit up, the pain in my body still going haywire. I look around the rocky terrain. I'm in some sort of canyon. But where?

I try to remember how I got here. That's when I realise that there is no remembering. There is no memory. My mind is blank. I don't remember. I don't remember anything. My name, my life, nothing.

I study my body to see if I can just get one tiny memory of who I am. I'm bleeding from several areas around my body. I'm covered in ripped bandages and I'm also naked, great. There's glass shards stuck deep into my skin, guess that explains the broken window. Did I jump? Why would I jump out of a window?

In the distance I hear someone yell.

"Његово тело би требало да буде овде," (His body should be over here).

Is that Serbian? Wait, how do I know that that's Serbian? Do I speak Serbian?

The voices sound mad, not friendly at all. I don't think I want to meet these people. I manage to stand up and start to walk, but I immediately collapse and fall back onto the ground. The voices are getting closer.

"Видим шрапнел из прозора," (I see shrapnel from the window).

I get up again, this time I don't collapse. I've got to get out of here. Wherever here is. Where do people speak Serbian?... Serbia?

I limp myself away from the voices. After about an hour of limping I come across the exit to the canyon and I think I'm in the clear from my pursuers. Great, now alls I've got to do is figure who the hell I am. I can see a cave in the darkness nearby. Good enough place to rest. I limp my way towards the cave and settle down inside.

Pulling glass shards out of your body hurts, who knew.

I sat on a rock inside the cave, using the bandages (that for some reason we're stuck to my body) to at least try and clean myself up. But bandages only get you so far. I was filthy and covered in dry blood that had turned dark. There were scars all over my body that weren't from the glass. What were they from? I still need to figure a lot of things out. Mainly, I need to know who the hell I am, where the hell I am and how the hell I know Serbian.

"Okay man think," I said out loud, "what is your name?"

I concentrate hard, pulling all my focus on one mission. A name.

Words started sounding in my head. It was a voice that wasn't mine.

"You've already found a replacement?" The voice said.
