"What would you do if I sung out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me?" the green haired girl stood out as she sung next to the man who was layered with hat and coat over coat over coat, his hands cold as the breezy September air bit into them. "Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key," she grinned and nodded at the man who dropped a coin in the guitar case. "Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends, I get high with a little help from my friends , oh, gonna try with 'little help from my friends."

"She's still doing it," Fred noted, and before long, the twins realized that their two oldest brothers were missing. A moment later, they spotted them walking to that same girl.

"Hi Jenna," Charlie Weasley greeted the girl, who motioned for him to wait as she finished the song.

"Can't believe she still does it every year," Bill Weasley told his two-years-younger brother. "Seems like not a day passed since we've left Hogwarts."

"Nah, she's taller."

"Not by much," joked the older brother, Jenna shooting them dirty looks.

"...What do you see when you turn off the lights? I can't tell you  but I know it's mine," she winked to the two siblings, "Oh I get by with 'little help from my friends, yes I get high with 'little help from my friends, yeah am gonna try with a little help from my friends!" she finished in a high note, smiling at the man who dropped a bill into the guitar case.

"Jenna, it's been a pleasure this summer," the man next to her sighed. "I'll be seeing you next year?"

"Of course John. Same place, same hour, every day, every year. I'm with you until one of us drops dead."

"Kid, you're too good." John sighed. "Good luck at Hogwarts this year."

Jenna's smile came out as a grimace. "Good luck out there. Owl me whenever, I'll come if you need me to."

"I manage. I always do," the squib assured her with a pained smile. "Get good grades so you won't be joining me in the alley."

She simply smiled a hopeless smile, not knowing what to say. What was there to say to the man that she's met all those years ago when she wandered after curfew, escaping the place she promised to stay safe in until her mother returns? What was there to say to the man who moved aside to get her a shelter from the rain that poured down mercilessly that night and became closer to her than her own soul?

"I'll be seeing you at the end of June," she smiled, hugging him, throat closing up and voice quivering as she attempted to keep the tears from flowing.

"I'll be right here waiting for you, kiddo."

"Hi Jenna," Charlie grinned, revealing his barely detected dimples that Jenna loved seeing. Rarely anyone's noticed them, and the day she had, he smiled even wider, telling her how everyone in his family told him he's seeing things when he pointed his dimple out.

"Hey Charles," she awkwardly waved, biting her lip. Suddenly, she realized how much her friends changed over the years she hadn't seen them. "What's going on William?"

"Haven't seen you in years, and that's how you act?" Bill shook his head. She was a first year when Bill was in his last, and despite owling each other quite a bit, they hadn't met all this time. Now, Charlie, she hadn't seen him ever since he graduated, at the end of her third year, and she shamelessly cried as they said their goodbyes that day.

"Well, you know awkward little me," Jenna admitted, shrugging as she picked up her backpack. She had one of the teachers at school cast a spell on it to make it bigger so she would have easier time traveling. Her bed was still free at the orphanage, because legally she was meant to be there, but Mrs. Bruce could nothing against the girl who wandered free.

"Oh no need to be awkward around us!" Charlie exclaimed, easily picking her up in a hug, making her giggle into his shoulder as she attempted to silence it. "We're your best friends, or are we not?"

"Yeah," Bill agreed as Charlie set her down on the floor roughly, making her stumble-- he was hit on his shoulder as a payback-- "come here kid, we knew you back at your awkward fringe stage. We talked you out of it!"

She laughed as she hugged Bill, finding her friends in the familiar strangers that stood in front of her, and that in fact, never really walked out on her, even if sometimes it did feel like they grew out of whatever strange friendship that happened at first glance.

Her hair turned vibrant pink, and Charlie could not shut up.

"You're blushing in your hair, Jen."

"Shut up dimpled Weasley."
