Blood dripped down my face. I never felt so much pain in my life. Courtney fell to the ground as her brother brutally kicked her ribs. I stood up and walked towards him. Nathan, refused to face me. I tried what I could to get him to turn to me, Instead of him looking at me, He stopped kicking Courtney long enough to listen. He turned to me "What do you what!?" He yelled. "I want to know where I am, and how I got here." I said trembling. Nathan grabbed my arm and pulled me over to a wall. He twirled me around and pinned me against it. He placed his forehead against mine and spoke solidly, "It doesn't matter how you got here... You're mine now!" His words echoed through my head. His? What does he mean? I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. His hand pressed on my face. "Such a pretty face Audri, I bet your boyfriend would hate to see it get hurt. So, for his sake I did this." Nathan paused and pressed a button on a controller and a door opened. There he was, Ronan was dead. I collapsed to my knees crying. Nathan grabbed a hand full of my hair and pulled me off the ground. I screamed as his voice went deeper. "Audri! Stand up now!" I stood up and wiped the tears away, and brushed off my knees. I followed Nathan. At the corner of my eye Courtney ran up with a crowbar and cracked Nathan's ribs leaving him on the floor. Courtney and I ran to the exit as fast as we could.
We got outside looked around and ran to my Grandparent's house. I banged on the door repeatedly. My Grandma, Judy, opened the door. Her face went from happy to crying. "What happened to you girls?" she asked. I hugged her, Courtney passed out on the couch. "Courtney's brother, Nathan, kidnapped us while we were sleeping then beat us. He's also a killer!" I cried just thinking about the fact Ronan was dead. "Who'd he kill honey?" she asked. "He killed..." I paused. "He killed Ronan." I pouted. Tears ran down my face. I tried to calm down so I can finish my conversation with her. My Grandma got up from her seat and grabbed my hands. "Stand up dear." I stood up and she hugged me. "I'm sorry this happened to you girls." She said. "Grandma. It's not your fault. So don't be sorry. I'm more worried about Courtney. She took a good kick to the ribs." I said wiping my tears off my cheek. My Grandpa, Lucky, entered the room. He looked puzzled seeing me here. He snuck a look at Courtney, then me. "What happened here lads?" He asked. Grandma sighed. "Well, Courtney and Audri got kidnapped by Courtney's brother, Nathan, then got brutally beaten by him. Also Nathan killed Audri's boyfriend, Ronan." Knowing my grandpa he doesn't like messing around. He got really mad really quickly. "Nathan is going to regret touching you girls!" He said yelling. He ran to his room and grabbed a shotgun from his gun case. My eyes widened. He went outside and I told him Nathan was walking down the street. He walked up to him and pointed it at him. He started speaking but I couldn't make out what he said to him. I saw Nathan begging on his knees. I got a laugh out of that. He stood up and he ran off. My grandpa came inside and said "You won't have to worry about Nathan anymore Hun." I smiled. I heard Courtney awakening. She shot up. "What's wrong Court?" I asked. She quivered. "My- My ribs. They're broken, I think." She cried. "GRANDPA!!!!" I screamed. He ran to us.
"We need to take Courtney to the hospital." I said. My heart was pounding so hard, the beat of my heart sounded in my ears. I started getting light headed. I fell to the floor and dozed off...
The next thing I remember is waking up in a hospital bed next to Courtney's. "What happened?" I asked scratching my head. My Grandma sat beside me. "You fainted on the floor." She said. I took a minute to think about it. I shook my head and lied back down. Courtney was eating ice cream and watching NCIS. "Courtney." I said in a whisper. "Yeah, what's up?" She asked. "Are you alright?" I asked. "Yes, Jules, I'm fine, and you?" She giggled. "I'm alright I suppose. Who you texting?" "Good, and you're crush." She winked and smiled. "You mean Keegan... Keegan Smith?" "Yes Audri, Keegan Smith." I froze.
20 minutes or so passed. I heard a "Knock, Knock!" Keegan came in and sat roses on the tabled that had my name on them. He stared at me with sparkling eyes. "I'm so happy you're okay, Audri." A tear ran down his face. I sat up and grabbed his hand. I smiled and hugged him. "I am too Keegan." I replied. He started to cry. "Awe, Keegan. Don't cry. If you cry then I'm going to cry then we'll both be a mess." He chuckled. He whispered into my ear. "Audri, I love you." I started to tear up. "I always have loved you. From the moment I laid eyes on you. I was just afraid you would hate me." He stopped. "Keegan, I love you too." I whispered. He giggled and wiped his tears away. He released the hug and Courtney says "Awe!" out of the blue. My grandparents looked at me. Keegan leaned in for a kiss. I stopped him. "Wait." I said. "What's wrong?" "I've never kissed anyone. Pretty extreme but true." Keegan smiled. "I'll teach you." I smiled and pressed my lips solidly on his. A cold chill went through my body. I broke free from the kiss. All I heard was "Awwwwwe!" from everyone. Even the nurses. I smiled and hugged Keegan again. Keegan stood up and handed me his phone. "Why do I need this?" "What? Can I not get my girl's digits?" He tried acting cool. I laughed, "Of course you can." I typed my number in and put my name as "My Boo" in his phone. I told him and he smiled. "Okay, well cya babe." He kissed my forehead. But when he turned around the nurses said I was released. He smiled at me. "What about Courtney?" I asked. The nurses smiled. "Oh dear, Courtney has to stay 2 extra nights, so we can fix her ribs. She has 1 fractured and 3 broken ribs. You are more than welcome to stay tonight with her." "Okay, Thank you nurse." She nodded and went out the door. "Are you staying, Audri?" Keegan asked. "Yeah. Bring me clothes tomorrow?"
