Hikari, Age 5:
Running through the hall Hikari giggled, a taller man chasing her down.
"Got you, kiddo!" Izuna, her uncle, exclaimed as he grabbed her.
"Oh no! Let me go!" she squealed, giggling as he pulls me down gently.
"Now why would I do that?" he asked, grinning, "I think I'll do this instead!"
His hands attacked her sides and she burst into a fit of laughter as he ruthlessly tickled her.
"N-no, please, stop it Izu-chan!" She said, laughing and squirming.
Another voice, much deeper then her or Izuna's interrupted, "Izuna, what are you doing? You are a grown man, act like it," said her father's stern voice.
Izuna just pouted, "Oh come on Madara, we're just having some fun!"
"We are in war Izuna, there are hardly times for such trivial activities. We need to be training the warriors today,"
Izuna frowned, and got up, "Again? They're children!"
"They are men Izuna, it is their duty just as training them is ours,"
She tilted her head, her eyebrows furrowed, "What do you mean, Tou-san?"
Izuna was about to respond when Father lifted up his hand,
"Hikari, everyone has a role here. Even you," he said, his stern and emotionless eyes on me, "People like Senshi are men, they fight. You, are a female, you're here to marry another Uchiha into the head family and produce some heirs. Understand, there is no time for this stupidity,"
She furrowed my eyebrows, "But why? Does it really matter that I'm a girl?"
Father just sighed, "You are too young to understand, let's go Izuna,"
Izuna shot her a pitying look, mouthing a 'Sorry,' as he followed her Father out.
She just stood there, thinking.
A knock and voice snapped her out of her daze, "Kari-chan! It's Miku, let's go play!"
Hikari grinned at the sound of her best friend, "Okay! Is Fu-chan here?!"
Hikari ran up to the door to see the two girls, one grinning in an excited fashion, the other smiling shyly.
"Fu-chan, Miku-chan! What do you want to play?"
Fuji shrugged, as if to say 'whatever.'
Miku grinned, "What about dolls?"
She frowned, "Mine are in the wash,"
"What else can we play?" Miku asked, pouting.
"How about ninja?" She asked, grinning.
Miku scrunched up her nose and shook her head, "That's a boy's game!"
She frowned, "I guess,"
Fuji smiled and pointed to the tree, and she instantly grinned, "We can play Scout!"
Miku nodded eagerly, "Okay!"
The three girls ran up to the tree, giggling.
Miku began to sloppily climb the tree, Fuji behind her slower but more careful.
Hikari didn't start to climb yet, she simply remembered how Senshi climbed that same tree with his Chakra.
She grinned as she remembered what the book she "borrowed" from her fiancé said about Chakra and began climbing the tree. Without her hands.
Or at least she tried to. Withing three seconds of walking she fell on her back. But in those three seconds, she had felt free. She had felt like
she could do anything. So ran up again, this time further before falling. And again. And Miku and Fuji watched, awe written all over their faces.
Eventually she reached them, her kimono torn and dirty, her hands scratched and her back bruised.
"Wow, that was amazing Kari-chan!"
Fuji nodded in agreement, clapping to emphasize her point.
Miku smiled, "I know right? Senshi can do it too,"
So, for the rest of the day the girls had played with Hikari at her house, after she had gotten changed, and for the rest of the day, Hikari couldn't wipe that smile off her face.
