Whisper opened her eyes, blinking and looking around at her surroundings. She felt a huge tongue  lick her head, and she looked up to see her mother. She looked at her brothers, and then back at her mother,"Can I play with them?" Whisper asked her."Of course you can." Her mother chuffed.Whisper bounded over to her brothers and played games with them, until She saw a shadow come over to the den."Hello Gray" she heard her mother chuff."Hello Fleck" Gray chuffed back. She didn't recognize the Snow leopard but she did recognize the scent he carried."Is that papa?" Whisper asked. "Yes,this is your father." Fleck purred."Why is he so big?" She asked."Because he is a grown up" Fleck chuffed. "Can I meet him?" Whisper asked. "Of course." Fleck purred with amusement. " Guys, look it's Papa!" She yowled and bounded over to him. "Hello little one." Her father chuffed. "My name is Whisper!" She mewed. "And I'm Gray." She heard his purr rumble in his throat. She heard her brothers coming slowly up to Gray. "Come on, hurry up slow-pokes!" She mewed at them. She looked at the scars on her fathers pelt."Why do you have scars?" She asked. "Because hunters tried to kill me, and your mother." He chuffed."Oh." She said in a quite voice. Whisper looked at her mother and back to her father. "Why did they want to kill you?" She mewed. "For our fur, that's why we have to be careful." He chuffed.

A  few months had passed since she met her father, and she was going hunting for the first time. I'm going to catch the juiciest prey. She said to herself. "Gray?" Whisper chuffed to her father. "Yes?" Gray chuffed. " What are we going to catch?" She chuffed. "I'm going to teach you how to hunt mice, and when you get older I'll teach you how to get bigger prey, like deer, and mountain goats." Gray chuffed. "Oh,ok" She chuffed. The hunt  had been successful, she had caught 4 mice and a shrew, her brothers had caught 3 mice and a hare. She proudly carried her catch, the tails of the catch in her mouth. She padded into the den and dropped her catch. She could hear her mother purring loudly as she spotted the prey."You had a successful hunt." Her mother purred. "Yes,they did." Gray purred as he padded into the den.
