I'm sorry I can't talk right now, if you could ring my office they will book you in for a phone conference when I'm next available. Wait did you say Belinda? Why what happened? Well I can't say I'm very surprised. She was always a bit of a flight risk if you ask me. I guess I have a couple of minutes to answer some questions. What do you want to know? Our relationship? Well it didn't end well as you probably know. How did we meet? Well I was staying in the hotel she worked at, she was a cleaner. I had come back to my room early after my meeting was cancelled and she was cleaning the kitchen, headphones in and dancing around the room. It took seconds for her to have me wrapped around her finger.
"Well this is a sight" I said leaning up against the wall watching her. Her head snapped up, eyes wide in surprise.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll just come back later" she said quickly packing up her supplies. She was gorgeous, her hair was up in a tight ponytail with a few stands falling around her face.
"No, there's no need to stop. I'll stay out of your way" I told her walking into the living room and turning on the TV. Not that I actually ended up watching it, I was too busy sneaking glances at the red head cleaning the kitchen.
I found myself coming home early just to see her and after a week I asked her out. I think she was shocked to say the least. She let me take her out and I pulled out all the stops. I like to treat my ladies well. I guess our relationship moved quickly, I ended up making my stay longer than originally planned, mainly for Belinda. We'd been dating for two months when I popped the question. Yes it was fast but I was smitten and I thought she was too.
"I don't know what to say Jacob." Was her initial response to my request.
"Say yes."
"It's just a bit fast. I don't - " she began,
"I'll look after you Belinda. You'll never have to wish for anything as my wife." I told her reaching out for her hands.
"I don't know."
"I know you don't want to be stuck cleaning hotel rooms for the rest of your life."
"No I don't but -"
"Then marry me. You'll have everything you could ever want."
"Isn't it a bit soon to be getting married?"
"I'm in love with you. I want you to be my wife Belinda. Please do this. Agree to marry me." I admit I was practically begging at this point but I knew she was just nervous about making such a big decision.
"Okay," she finally said. I couldn't believe it. We started planning the next day, I was so happy I couldn't hold it in.
The wedding was underway a few weeks later. It wasn't exactly difficult to put it all together, when you have money anything can be done. I wasn't wasting anytime, I wanted her to be my wife so badly, and I knew I had to leave soon. Everything was set, the guests were arriving and I was waiting in my place by the priest. But she never came. I gave her everything she could have ever wanted and she just up and left without an explanation. I loved her and she broke my heart.
