Tusseljack's, a mythical creature known to the fantasy scroll readers of Phyrria.

These creatures reside above the cloud lines and obtain oxygen through the water particles in the air, giving explanation to the constant mist floating above their fur.
( the colour of their fur affects the mist colour )
The underbelly of a Tusslejack is usualy covered in scuffs and scratches. Females and Males have few design differences, males being more vibrant toned and females earthy tones. Most Tusseljacks don't mind being misgendered, although some Males take pride in their vibrant fur and get angered when you mistake them for a female who's fur is generally darker.

The design is based off of 3 creatures, dragons of course, hares and bats. The feathers were just my friends creative output. The feathers on their neck expand when flustered, threatened, ecc.
As they get older the number of feathers increases, its basically a way for them to communicate social standing. More feathers = the older the Tusseljack and like humans, age is connected to wisdom.

I'll be posting sketches of Tusseljack kits in a bit. (Tiny babs)
Until the age of 1 Tusseljack kits live on the back of their guardian, usualy being the mother. Also, their eyes are disproportionate until the skull is fully grown. Meaning naturally adorable eyes for most of their Kit lives. Life expectancy of a Tusseljack is 20 years.

Their vision doesn't develop very well so they rely on their hearing for the most part. Another addition from bats is their lengthy wings. Their claws are located at the end of the wing, When standing the wing part folds in ripples.

Atlas, age 17, Male.
King of the Tusseljack species.
