The Western Style of riding is very popular in Texas.
Charlene is my best friend and my only friend who doesn't live further than 2 miles away from my home. We go to school together, we ride together, we care for each other.
Renting property from my dad, Charlene and her family live literally right next door. She knocked on the door while I was still eating breakfast.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
My older twin sisters Lily and Violet answered for me, "Of course not, she's never ready on time!"
I gave them a suspicious glare and stumbled upstairs to grab my bag. We all filed out the door, Lily and Violet, next Charlene, then me, my little sister Rose, and finally Charlene's little brother Jacob.
It was the big day. The auditions for Simmry Western Riding Club were today. Anyone who was decent at riding was going to be there. But only the best got in. Charlene and I are really close to making the club/team. Last year we were only two people away from getting in. We work really hard this year to get in. Today proves everything.
We hoped on our horses and started west, towards the arena, with the sun just coming up in the other direction.
