The arena was big. It was the riding club's own horse arena. Many big competitions are held there. That's why Simmry is now on the map.
The audition was at the riding clubs arena. Iv'e attended many competitions here, but rarely place due to the the riding club and other riding clubs outside the city take all of the places. That's why I wanted to be in the club, to get better, to have a real coach, to place.
Mom pulled up in her red, beat up pick-up truck, pulling an RV behind. She kicked up a lot of red dust and gravel and the horses started to freak. We quickly tied them to a nearby post before they were able to run off.
We didn't have a trailer because we could ride to the arena on the horses. It's a muddy path so we never wear our competition clothes down the path. Mom brings the RV so we can change in there. It's air conditioned, there's a kitchenette in the front, a sofa, a bathroom, and a table. Also the couch pulls out to be bed. It's great because we have to wait for about three hours for the awards. Charlene and I hang out in the RV, while my sisters and her brother are competing.
We climbed in the RV, Lily and Violet, next Charlene, then me, my little sister Rose, and finally Charlene's little brother Jacob. On the table were our clothes in a Ziploc bag. Each had a notecard on the top that had our name in blue ink, and in the finest cursive my mom could possibly do, and a note of encouragement on the bottom. Mom goes over-board some times, actually a lot of the time.
I closed my eyes. I knew mom had made me a new shirt for the audition. I pulled it out of the bag dropping my jeans on the floor. I set the shirt on the table and reached down to grab the jeans feeling the ground trying to find them. I picked them up and set them on the table. I held the shirt up and opened my eyes. It was amazing. It was orange and pink plaid with rhinestones bordering the coller and cuffs, and with a few rhinestones here and there. It was amazing!
