Because we obviously needed a fake dating au.
"Do you remember how many times have I saved your ass from something?" Is the first thing Matteo says letting himself fall on her couch.
"Hello to you too, is so nice to see you." Luna says not looking up from her phone. "What are you doing in my house? Besides not starting conversations like an actual person."
"Answer the question, Valente." Matteo says nuzzling her feet with his.
"I'm not sure." Luna sighs.
"But you do agree that it has been a shit ton, right?" He asks and Luna rolls her eyes, still not looking at him.
"I guess so." Luna admits. "Why?"
"I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend."
That makes Luna turn her body completely to Matteo, her game of piano tiles completely forgotten.
"What?"
"My folks are coming to town." He says, as if it explained anything.
"And?"
"And they still don't know I broke up with Ámbar." He admits.
"You still haven't told your parents that you broke up with her?"
"No, I haven't." Matteo says. "Because if I do it will be a nightmare because she was super rich and important, that's why I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend."
"You want me to pretend to be Ámbar?" She asks.
"You don't need to do that, I never told them her name." Matteo explains.
"You dated her for four years and never told them her name?" Luna asks, more than confused with the whole situation.
"They don't actually care about my life, they just cared that she was rich and tied to the Benson family." She doesn't know how to answer that so she just stays quiet. "Things you are too, which is why this will work perfectly."
Luna has so many things against his argument she doesn't even know where to begin, so instead she just asks:
"Why don't you asks Ámbar to help you? You are in good terms again, after all."
"It would probably interfere with her flirting with Simón." Matteo shrugs. "So she probably won't want to do it."
Luna has to give him that.
"Okay, let's say I'm on board with this." Luna says slowly. "What would it entail?"
"Just pretending you are my girlfriend for like two weeks, three tops, and standing very very boring and tortuous dinners with my parents and some of my extended family, but my mom is not that bad and neither is my Nonna." He explains looking at her with puppy dog eyes, knowing she can't resist them. The asshole.
"Alright." She says, her mind full with all the reasons this is a bad idea, the first one being that she will be Matteo's girlfriend for a few weeks and then she will have to come back to real life."I guess I do owe you a lot."
"So you'll do it?" Matteo asks excited, almost like a five year old who just got the toy he wanted for christmas.
"Yes, but don't you think this makes us even." She says pointing her index finger at him. "This is huge, so you owe me now."
"That's fair." He says smiling down at her.
"And you have to make me dinner now." She adds.
"Like I don't make you dinner every time I'm here." He says sitting down more comfortably, putting his arm around her shoulders.
