He lead me down ally ways and through streets until we came to a large Mansion building. We walked up to the oversized door. Nathan pulled on the large brass handle and the door opened with an almighty creek and in we walked. I was overwhelmed at the amount of people who were actually there. Young, old(ish) and in between and only some of them looked like .... Well highly avoidable Nathan was still holding my hand and lead me to a sort of front desk. A young woman looked up from her computer. She saw Nathan and her face lit up

"hey Nathan" she squeaked

"Hi. " the woman seemed pleased to see him but I'm not sure he felt the same

" I see you've brought a friend with you?" she looked at our interlocked hands almost in disgust "I am guessing she will be staying to?"

"Of course I wouldn't bring someone if they weren't " he gripped my hand tighter as he said it. He turned his perfectly shape face to mine and smiled turning my insides to mush

"The woman at the desk also turned her attention to me and I swear she muttered something under her breath. She passed a form over the desk and went back to her work. The form was just asking how many nights we were staying. We chose two. I paid for one night and he paid the other. We handed the woman the form back and she passed the key to our dorm. Number twenty-three. We made our way to the dorm and our hands never left each others. I went to put the key in the door but it was all ready opened. An other boy about my age opened it. He and Nathan had a hand shake and that was the first time his hand left mine. I seen the other boy look at me strange "who is this?" he asked Nathan with a cheesy grin and a wink

"This,my friend,is Nada" wow not only was he gorgeous but he also knew how to pronounce my name. I felt my cheeks burn bright red. The boy shook my hand "I'm Edward but please call me Eddie"

"nice to meet you Eddie!" I said. Eddie squinted his eyes "Eddie likes to guess foreign accents" whispered Nathan into my ear. I laughed and thought I would make it easier for him but before I could give him a clue he shouted " Croatia?" I nodded "God I'm good!" he laughed. We all began laughing. We went into the dorm and chose our beds. There was a bunk bed and two single beds. Eddie Had a single bed under the old Victorian window. "do you want to share the bunk beds with me ?" asked Nathan his massive blue eyes piercing a whole straight through my head. I nodded as no words would come. I took the bottom bunk. We were just settled in when a knock on the door startled us. The girl from the desk swaggered in "Nathan can I speak to you outside?" Nathan turned to me and Eddie and rolled his eyes and followed her out the room. I tried to hear what they were saying but it didn't sound like they were speaking at all. I got up to go and see but Eddie shook his head "you won't like what you see" he whispered. I shrugged and stuck my head out the door. Eddie was right, I didn't like what I saw. Nathan and the girl from the desk. Kissing. In fact full frontal snogging. I could feel wetness in my eyes and I quickly closed the door and went back to the bed. I tried to put the image out of my mind but it was still there. I looked to Eddie he was looking at me strange and I was waiting for 'I told you so' but he said nothing he just came over and gave me a hug. I felt weird, really weird he smelt so nice and I could have stayed in his arms forever. Our embrace was interrupted by a knock on the door. Before anyone could answer it Nathan walked into the room wiping his mouth. He looked at eddie's arms around mine and raised an eyebrow. Eddie quickly let go of me and sat back on his own bed looking down at the floor. Nathan came and sat next to me "would you like to go for a walk with me ?" I turned to Eddie unsure but Nathan took my hand and turned my face back to his. All my insides melted again and I followed his lead. We walked to the local park and sat on the swings "Nathan?"

"yes?"

"I don't understand that place"

"What do you mean ?"

"Why would there be a place for runaways to stay and they don't even contact your parents. It makes no sense"

"Think about it everyone wants to make money these days and no one has ever built a place to 'hide' runaways. Big money"

"hmm I suppose. Can I ask you one more thing?"

"Sure anything!"

"Are you and that girl from the desk ...." I couldn't bring myself to say it

"are we what ? Going out ?" I hesitated as he began the answer "well yes I suppose we are" he looked to his feet. I felt really hurt. I let go of his hand and made my way back to the building. He had lead me on. Made me feel special and now he had taken that away in one sentence. "Nada wait!" he shouted "It's not really serious between us! We see other people all the time!" I ignored him and kept on walking. When suddenly a woman with a child stopped me "Nads! Nada! Wait up!" then I began to run. How did this woman know my name ? I kept running and running until I was back inside. "Nada are you okay? What happened?" I shook my head and sat on the floor. Eddie looked concerned. "Did something happen back there?"

When I finally caught my breath I answered him with "Yes lots of things but first what is her name ?"

"The girl at the desk?"

"Yeah. "

"Sophie"

"Thanks."

Eddie looked at me like I was an alien. He came over and gave me another hug but this time it wasn't the same. His body was closer to mine and his head was rested on my shoulder. Something inside me felt right. Like that was were I belonged. In his arms. He lifted his head from my shoulder and looked into my eyes. I noticed he had the most amazing greeny-brown eyes. He moved his head closer ever so slowly and kissed me. It felt like nothing I had ever experienced before. His soft red lips brushing against mine. That was when I decided Eddie was 'the one'. Eddie was still kissing me when Nathan came back into the room. Eddie quickly broke away from me. I turned to see Nathan's dark expression "Nada please step outside" he turned and pointed me to the door. I walked out reluctantly but I left a space between the door and the frame so I could see what was going on. They were just standing there staring at each other before Nathan lifted his clenched fist and smacked it right into Eddie's jaw sending a splash of blood across the room "You. You utter prick !"

"Ow! Nathan calm down man you hurt her and she needed comforting and I like her!" I felt my cheeks go red

"Yeah well I like her too and I saw her first!" I laughed at their childish behaviour "But Nathan you don't understand I ..." he was cut off as Sophie walked straight passed me and into the dorm "what's going on ?" she asked looking at Eddies blooded jaw. Nathan waved a hand in the air as if to dismiss the obvious problem at hand. I walked back into the room and went straight over to Eddie "are you okay ?" I whispered into his ear

"Yep I think so" he made an attempt at smiling but flinched as pain shot through his jaw

"Is. Is there somewhere I can take you ?" I asked

"what you mean like a hospital?"

"Yeah something like that?"

"No." he held his Jaw and sat on the bed. His jaw had finally stopped bleeding but still looked agony his eyes filled with tears but gulped them back when he saw I was looking. Nathan took me by the hand and stared into my eyes I was surprised at the fact that it had no effect on me. I guessed I was really into Eddie. Sophie broke our hands free and looked to me with an evil smirk she leaned toward me and whispered "You dare try anything with my man and I swear to god I will rip your slutty little head off and feed it to my dogs. " she stood up straight, smiled at us and walked out of the room. I gulped. The boys ran over to me "What did she say to you?" asked Eddie in concern "Nothing. " I lied

"Don't worry about her she'll get over it when we're going out" I stared at him letting him know that, that was not a possibility. He gave me a stare back almost saying 'You know it will some day'.

"Dinner!" shouted a mans voice. We trudged down stairs to where the dinning hall was
