Hold on

You lay in bed
Look at the clock
4:00 am
Another sleepless night
You get up and turn your light on
Roll up your sleeves
Remove your brackets
Rows upon rows of jagged scars show
You find a sharpener
Remove the blade
Blood races down your arm,
It's the only way you know how to cope
You find your bracelets
Put them back on,
Put your jumper on
Wearing your mask
You leave for school
Skipping breakfast

Everyone around you is pretty
Then you look in the mirror and realise
Your not
Your friends are only pretending
In reality,
They hate you
So do all your teachers and family
It's probably torture teaching you
They all dread the class your in
But school isn't safe anymore,
No where's safe
People non stop saying your the devil
That you come from hell

Lunch rolls around
You find the lunch your mum packed
You chuck it in the bin
Stand up and start walking around school
Trying not to cry

Finally school finishes
You don't want to go home
So you run off into the woods
The only place you can truly be yourself
The trees and darkness enclose you
Finally your alone
You get your phone out
To take some pictures
You turn your phone on
You've already been in the woods for an hour
You text your mum saying
'I'm staying at a friends'
You press send
The you get another message
From a blocked number
All it said was
'Go kill yourself'
Then you get another and another
All saying the same thing

The mask falls off your face
You run home
Luckily no ones there
You write a letter
Post a video online
Saying goodbye

On top of a 30 stories parking block
You stand thinking
You look beside you
There's someone else on the next block over
Suddenly they're gone
You see them bolting towards the ground
In that moment you realise
Your life's worth living
You burst into tears
Still half tempted to jump
Then you get a call from your best friend
Saying not to kill yourself
After that you sprint home
Praying no one read your letter

You arrive home; no ones there
You run into your room
Tear your suicide letter into shreds
Delete the video online
Dreading the next day at school

The next day at school
Lessons are okay,
The whole days going fine,
Until lunch
You have to face the bullies
They pick on you as you walk past
But you've had enough,
You stand up to them
Your friends all back you up
They walk off
Half admitting defeat
As you go sit down with your friends

Just remember things get better,
True, I don't know you or your situation
But I do know that you'll get through it
It may be stormy now but it never rains forever
Keep your head held high,
Be strong and don't give up.
Your worth it
