Shots fired part 2

He had followed her in the shadows.

Watched her walk aimlessly through the streets, seemingly entranced by the cold that didn't seem to touch her skin, and float as if the wind carried her in the direction of the sea.

Then unexpectedly, she had turned to look back at the city when she stood where sand met cement. Where nature met man.

And he had seen her gray eyes so full of grief and fill to the brim with tears that he almost faltered.

Almost.

Because she was the only witness to hateful crime he had committed. Full of his devotion and love to the only person he ever cared for, her mother. And that horrid mans wife.

He had asked her to come with him, so that they could be forever unlike what they were before. But she wouldn't come she said she wanted to stay, but he wouldn't let her.
So he aimed the gun at her love's head and pulled its trigger.

Oh how he had loved it's echo and the loud thump of a lifeless body falling to the floor that came after.

"No!"
The tears streaming down her beautiful face as the the blood stained the tan colored carpet dripping out of the hole in her head.

Her head.

She had throne herself in front of the gun, she had died for the wretched man that took her from him. So he granted her final wish and let them be together this time three shots rang out.

He didn't hear the screaming at first, his mind had muted out all sounds and senses as he stared at his loves lightless eyes.

Her blood that soaked the carpeted ground surrounded her like a halo and as he reached down to close her eyes he heard the voices for the first time.

The screaming, for the first time.

But the only audible sounds he could piece together from the high pitch wailing surrounding him were;

Mom

Dad

And with a voice several octaves lower was the shattering phrase,

"Run, Ell please run!"

The voice sounded as if it had been fractured a thousand times over and was finally collapsing in on itself.  And it was.
