1 Practice freak out

Ok. So I ride four wheelers. That means I get on big death machines that roar and go fast and I can die! Anyways, I had a race coming up at the time and we went to this practice track. It was late and normally I would've said no, stayed home and sat in my pajamas playing video games all day but as I said it was late when my stepdad asked me if I wanted to go.

"Uh, sure!" I was most likely pre-occupied.

Anyways, early in the morning I got dressed and was most likely regretting my decision. Anyways when we got there I was so excited to show everyone how cool I was going fast and vroom vroom! Yay! And thought about how many dudes I was faster than. SO I got on my gear, and put on my helmet and sat on my quad, waiting for someone to help me start it because the kicker was broken at the time and I couldn't exactly kick it. So my stepdad started it for me and I followed out into the ice. It was winter at the time so I was layered with----OMB THAT COMMERCIAL PEOPLE WERE WEARING MASKS LIKE TYLER AND JI---sorry the TV is on obviously anyways back to the story. I was layered with coats and jackets and stuff, probably humming along to AFYCSO in my brain. So I followed him to the track, he was on his quad and I got on the ice. Now, if you ice race you know that usually practice involves not wearing nails in your tires so you slip and slide a lot to help with your control and practice, as usually racing involves the nail-tires. I've been riding since I was seven so I should know what they're called.... I think studs... I don't know that's not the point! This story is a train wreck... Anyways so I was riding on the ice, going around in circles and suddenly the ice started cracking so I decided I was done. I rode back to the trailer and parked my quad next to it. Then, I proceed to look for the kill switch and for some reason it wasn't there so I was like "umm maybe it'll run out of gas on it's own and turn off?"

...yeah. I'm an idiot if you can't tell. SO I went in the trailer and got undressed from my gear and I was shivering from the cold so I decided to go wait in the truck for my step-dad. OF COURSE MY PHONE WAS DEAD so I couldn't call him and ask him to please come help me turn off the friggin quad! So I looked for the keys to charge it....Yeah. He took them with him. I didn't want to walk down the trail as there were plenty of riders and it wasn't safe. Also, the path was extremely thin and overgrown so I couldn't walk along it. My only option was to walk a mile down the road to the official entrance which I wasn't willing to do because they could come back and realize I wasn't there and then.....that would be bad. I could of course bring my phone, and text them telling them that I'd left to go to the main entrance but it was dead and if it wasn't I wouldn't be in that situation. Besides, I doubt there was service. So I just sat shivering in the cold truck for about ten minutes before I heard a noise so I thought they're back! yes! So I went out and called, "Dad?" No reply. Great. SO I just made my way to the back of the trailer and I turned out the wind slammed the trailer's door shut and that's what made the noise. This is rather embarrassing but... I started to panic.... Yeah.... I have anxiety so that didn't help... I started to full out panic and not at the disco kind. My quad was making weird sputtering noises and I didn't know what to do and I was cold, I was tired, and I was hungry....and I was probably on my period now that I think about it. So I was freaking out. I sat on the side of that road, staring into the ditch, just taking deep breaths of the cold air. I have an overactive imagination so suddenly when I couldn't hear the engines of the quads I started to panic. I was on this deserted road in the middle of nowhere and all I could hear was my quad making noises like it was going to explode. I went back over there trying to fix it, and I contemplated turning around and just driving back there but suddenly I heard an engine and I thought it was coming up the path. nope. So I just sat there, stubbornly staring and refusing to believe that there wasn't one coming. After about fifteen minutes I started to get impatient and my brain was like: Haha you're all alone and they're probably going to be out there for another hour.

Just when I was about to hop on my quad and figure what the hell was happening my stepdad's friend rode up the path and instantly jumped off, connecting two broken wires on my quad to turn it off. I just stood there staring and awkwardly mumbled that I didn't know how to turn it off. He just nodded then rode back down the path. Yep.

So I sat in the truck staring at the path for the next forty-or-so minutes until they finally came and we went home.

 I'm pathetic, I know.
