After school I walked back to the orphanage. My parents died after I was born. It was just my brother Scott and I until he left for Beacon Hills five years ago I'm now 17 and he's 23. Soon I'm going to escape and go find my brother in California from Washington. I'm so tired of this place because when I rebel they starve and abuse me. I don't want the staff to know that I'll be leaving my home town of Coupeville and going to California 1,237.5 miles away on foot with about $300 for food.

Two nights later

I packed a backpack with a the only clothes I had and the three hundred dollars. Now I was ready for my escape. I'm planning to escape at midnight or soon after everyone was in bed sleeping. There is only one person that I will miss her name is Sara, and she was my partner in crime until she died. I don't talk much anymore and I'm too shy to make new friends.

Midnight

It's the time for the plan to commence. Lucky for me I sleep on the first floor, making my escape easier. I leave shortly after taking my file so they can't prove I was ever there.  When I left I headed towards the Deception Pass Bridge to start my journey to  California.
