"Oh shit. Oh no, I'm going to be late." Olivia cursed as she jumped up and down, pulling her pants on and slipping on her shoes. Changing her shirt, she raced out of the room, going into the bathroom to finish getting ready.
Her father was in the kitchen, cussing at the coffee maker. "Hurry up, Olivia. I'm not taking you to school this morning. See if your friend's brother can take you, or run all the way." Rinsing her mouth, she rolled her eyes. After leaving the bathroom she threw on her coat and swung her backpack over her shoulder, taking the coffee tumbler from her waiting father. "Go."
"Yeah, I'm going. Thanks dad, see you later tonight." He left the house first, driving off in a hurry as she locked up. Looking down, there was a small dog walking around her legs. Crouching and reaching out her hand, the dog wagged it's tail and she picked him up, walking to the sidewalk. There wasn't anyone outside, but she had also never seen this dog before so she thought instantly of the new neighbors.
Carefully and slowly walking through the yard, the dog was pawing at her chest. Olivia peeked around the trees, wondering if anyone was standing out there. Which there was, but he seemed completely out of it. As she moved closer, she realized that he was sleeping, slowly swaying back and forth. Crouching just a little, she tried to get a look at his face.
He wasn't much taller than her, and she could see little locks of black hair. Underneath the hood was a cute face with big black glasses slowly sliding off his face. As he swayed forward, she took a slight step back, but moved again to make sure he didn't fall. He started mumbling in a different language and she lightly tapped him.
"Excuse me..?"
Another man came out, stumbling around, obviously forgetting his jacket and looking just as tired. He was saying something, but she couldn't understand. Yet, suddenly he stopped and she blinked.
"Ah. Annyeonghaseyo." He gave a short bow and then looked at the dog who became very hyper.
She knew that word from her best friend, and she gave a smile. "Hello. Is he yours?" She put the dog down, watching as he pranced around the white haired man.
He suddenly became very alert and he smacked the sleeping boy on the arm. "Ya, Taeil."
Taeil stumbled backwards, keeping himself upright and looking around. His eyes were slowly shutting again before the man him hit once more. Upon his eyes resting on her, she waved. "Hello."
Rubbing his eyes, he looked at her again and seemed to have to process everything. "Hello, did we bother you?"
Olivia giggled and shook her head. "No, I just was bringing back your dog."
Taeil spun around in confusion, taking in his surroundings. "Oh. That's right."
"I'm Jiho." The other man spoke, bowing again.
She smiled, nodding to both of them. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Olivia." It was awkward for a moment while they yawned and she just stood there. Grinning and nodding again, she waved goodbye. "I have to go now." Walking backwards slowly, she kept staring at them, realizing they were actually quite cute.
"Hyung!" Another man stepped out, yelling until he noticed her right away. He walked back around the corner and she heard a door slam.
It was hard for her to turn around, because they were still watching her. Smiling began to hurt and her feet were stumbling, but it was awkward.
"Olivia!" A loud shout in the early morning made them all jump, she could see it, especially the half asleep Taeil. It was Ha-na's brother who was standing a little ways down the road.
Grinning happily, she waved once more to her neighbors and ran down the sidewalk, clinging to her backpack. "Coming!"
She walked back with him and climbed into the passenger seat of his car and watched him start the engine. "Your dad called. Said you might need a ride to school." Ji-woo smiled at her and she crossed her arms, looking away.
"Of course he did. I could have found my own way to school, but thank you." Olivia had a massive crush on the older brother, but she was ever going to say so, not even to her best friend. "Ha-na left already?" It was unusual for her to go on ahead without her, especially early.
"Yeah, she said something about confessing her love or along those lines." Ji-woo started snickering, but Olivia's head was racing. Confessing? But to who? She had never heard of anyone who fit her friends type. "What? She didn't tell you? Wow, I'm not so surprised."
Her eyes started watering and she hurried to wipe them away before he could see.
"Now I'm surprised. You are normal."
Olivia glared at him, wanting to scream. "Excuse me?"
"Even the almighty Olivia cries." He smiled softly and patted her head. She couldn't help but laugh, playfully pushing his arm away.
