Lucian woke slowly, inhaling the icy morning air and the smell of the woman still cradled to his chest. The feeling of fingers tracing patterns on his back made his eyes open. Looking down the Angel found Anna tucked against his body, their legs tangled, her arm wrapped over his side, and her fingers running up and down the area where his wing started. Her touch was barely there sending faint shivers under the King's skin.

Her eyes were closed but it was clear she had been awake long before the King. Inhaling deeply and flexing Lucian stretched his body, the movement catching Anna's attention. Letting out a rough noise Lucian sighed and moved to kiss her lips softly, the action making her smile.

 "Good morning."

Smiling back Lucian pressed a hand in the curve of her back and pulled her closer so he could kiss her lips more firmly. The King's smile widened as the woman returned the kiss, his body coiling with a sudden shock when her fingers slipped through his feathers. The touch making his breath rush out of his lungs all at once. Breaking the kiss Lucian felt his feathers ruffling, the muscles under her hand contracting. Anna studied the reaction with great interest. Since meeting the King and seeing the range of his reactions to different things, this one was the most prominent.

It was clear his wings were sensitive. Not only could she see his expression changing, she could feel the movement under her hand. Anna found herself wondering what it must feel like to him.

The sound of soft knocking on the door made Anna look over her shoulder, her face suddenly lighting itself with a bright blush as the door opened. Before Anna could move to pull the silk sheets around herself the massive wing was covering her.

Lucian looked up, irritation sparked across his features. It made Noah freeze, the Beta took a step back his eyes flicking from his Alpha to the woman laid against him in the bed. Her body hidden in a blanket of black feathers. Noah wasn't expecting the King to have any company, he never had before. Feeling his mouth go dry at the look on his Alpha's face Noah slowly backed out of the room, holding his breath until the door clicked shut. Staying there Noah stared at the door, stunned. His hand clamped on the handle.

"Noah, what are you doing? Is Alpha up?"

At Vitani's voice Noah released the handle and glanced back at her, normally one of them had to wake Alpha Lucian. He was surprisingly not a morning person. Raising his eyebrows Noah opened his mouth, but the words caught in his throat when the door creaked behind him. A thick pressure draped itself over the two wolves making them duck their heads. Feeling his heart jump Noah looked up at Lucian now wearing pants, the scowl on his face slowly fading into a blank look.

Pressing his lips together Lucian forced himself to relax, he knew he couldn't snap at the Beta. The wolves wouldn't have known unless they were searching for the signs. Feeling his eyes roll to the side Lucian let out a breath, it was entirely his own fault for not informing them.

"Please inform the pack no one is so enter our chambers unless otherwise directed by Annabelle or myself."

Noah and Vitani shared a nervous look, ready to respond when Anna's head popped around the King. Surprise on her flushed face as she pointed at herself confused, the crimson sheets being held tightly around her body.

 "Our... Chambers?"

The wolves watched amazed as their Alpha's face instantly softened, his eyes dilating as he looked down at the human. The pressure in the atmosphere dissipating into nothing. Vitani smiled brightly at the sudden development in her Alpha's affection for the girl, reaching over to silently grab Noah's wrist in excitement. The male wolf offering only a disgusted glanced in her direction.
