CHAPTER 1:
"Jesus Christ, Cels. When are you gonna wake up?! Its almost 8:00! This is your last final and it starts in 15 minutes!". My roommates voice was almost up to a half scream now. This was ussually how my mornings here at the appartment started, with my roommates screaming at me to get up and perform my responsabilities. Well its hard to get up when I was up until 4 am studying for this damn final, I thought to myself.
"Im up. Im up. Quit your screaming, Annie" I said, grogily, as got out of bed. "Jeez, Celia. Why did I ever agree to be your roommate?" Annie said to me as she made her way to her room. "You agreed to this because we're best friends, plus, without you, I would have probably dropped out in the first semester" I told her. "Yeah, its thanks to me that your lazy ass gets where it needs to be!". I giggled. "And that is why you're my best friend" I told her.
I made my way out the room and got dressed. I took a quick glance at my notes. I knew everything about the test, right?
I made my way to the small kitchen. I was running late, so no time to make myself a proper breakfast, so a pop tart will do. When I made my way to the door, I looked back. I saw Annie sitting down on the sofa with her laptop in her lap. Loki, our corgi/ husky mix puppy was snoring next to her. "Bye, see you after the exam" I said. "Luck, Cels" Annie answerd as I headed out the door. Thanks, I thought. I'm gonna need it. Annie, the lucky, studious girl she was, didnt need to take finals. Since she was the smartest girl in the whole 11th grade, her GPA was a perfect 4.00, the school gave her some perks. Those included not to take finals. I on the other hand, was only an 3.50 kind of gal. Ovenland Hill (our highschool), told me that I had to take only the finals of the clases that I didnt have a 95+ grade. Lucky for me, that ment that the only finals I had to take this year were spanish, history, and math. Since today was the last day, and I only needed to take the spanish test, after the test was over, the school let me leave early.
Of course, I had stayed up all night studying for that damn spanish test, but the nerves always got to me.
I left the building and waited in the bus stop. Not the School Bus, the regular bus stop. Our school didn't use a school bus, since everybody els had a car. I didn't have a car, so I took the bus. Its shitty, I know. Still, I needed to go places, so the bus was my only choice. That and Annie, but I don't like to bother her just 'cause I need a ride to such a dumb place like school.
When I got to school, I still had a few minutes to study from my notes before the exam started, so I made my way to the classroom as soon as possible, I sat down, and read. The bell rung, and it was time for the exam. I felt confident, but way too nervous. The test started, and I got confident. Honestly, it was easier than I thought it was going to be, and I was a bit surprised. I finished my test with a few minutes to spare, and I handed the test in.
I left school pretty quick after that. There was no need to stick around, after all. I decided it wouldn't be that bad to stop by my parents apartment to grab some food, so I called my mom to pick me up. Usually, people assume that I have a bad relationship with my parents, since I moved out, but its quite the opposite. I have a great relationship with my parents. I asked to move out, the small apartment they live in was getting to cramped with me, since it was a two bedroom, and family was always coming over. When I suggested that I moved out, they were a little skeptical at first, any parent would. But seeing that it would be in the same building, but just a few floors down, and I wouldn't live alone, I had Annie as a roommate, and they had known Annie all their lives, so they agreed. But obviously, I still had to call each time I was leaving and I stopped by almost every day. It was great!
Mom came to pick me up at school. We chatted a little, you know, the usual "how did the test go?" and "any plans for the break?" Kinda talk, it was over pretty quick. At my parents apartment, I eat some food, seeing that it was almost noon, said goodbye to my mom and told her to tell my dad that I had stopped by. I left and made my way to my apartment. Annie was in the exact same position as when I left.
"Have you been sitting there all morning?!" I asked, not really surprised, just curious. "Um, excuse me?! Where do you think these chips came from?!" She held up the bowl of half eaten chips and smiled. "So", she asked, "how was the test?". "Actually, it was pretty easy" I answerd. "Nerd" she said, teasing. I gasped, fake-offended. "Well I wouldn't talk if I were you!" I answered. She stayed silent for a while, and then she replied "Loser" with a laugh.
"So, what are we going to do tonight? Winter break starts today, after all" Annie asked.
Even if we did live in a appartment, we were still in highschool. Both our parents had agreed to let us move out, It was what we wanted, and they both respected that, plus, we still had to call when we were leaving or when we had plans. "Dunno" I answered. "Probably stay home, and watch some tv".
"Wrong! You're comming with me to Phillips party! He told me to tell you that you are going to be his date tonight" Annie said, excited.
