Brooke, one of the youngest pups cried.
"Momma is the demon going to kill us too?"
"Nonsense!" She replied with pride.
"We are the strongest pack dear! That demon won't even get close to us!" Kira just hoped that was true.
The bushes rustled and a frightening creature popped out.
"Hey Bear!" It shouted with joy.
"Who.. Who are you!?" Bear replied with a frightened tone.
"The demon!" Karma shrieked.
Ari stormed up to Kobalt's face. Her eyes were burning with anger.
"What have you done!!" She screeched.
The forest echoed with her booming voice.
"You killed him!!" She snarled and braced herself to attack.
"Wha.. what are you talking about..?" Kobalt asked.
A few moments after, Kobalt's pack mates joined in with Ari's threatening voice.
"You killer!" One of the elders yelled.
"Monster!" Shia, Brooke's older sister yelled.
"Lets get him!!" Many other pack mates yelped.
Kobalt was frightened. He turned tail and ran.
"That's right you big ol' butt face monster get outta here!!" Brooke yelled.
Kobalt turned his head for one last time. The last thing he saw was Kama's evil grin and her white, blank glowing eyes.

Kobalt ran through the river, over the big boulders, past the great lake and the sacred waterfall where loved ones were buried, through the forest and onto the unfamiliar grasslands. He ran and ran and ran and didn't stop. After a while of running he was sure he'd escaped his pack mates claws. He found a small deer print filled with water and drank. The green saliva that came off of his tongue burned the weeds that surrounded the puddle. He turned back in the direction of his once owned territory. It was out of sight.
Kobalt sighed and looked for a dry place to sleep.

The little creatures that gazed upon him stood frozen with fear, then ran to save their lives. He found an abandoned badger hole, and he called it his bed for the night.

He was alone. Alone in an unfamiliar forest. The forest that lined the arising sun at daybreak, and stood dark, outlined by the moon light at dusk. He could never return home. Back to his friends, his sanctuary. The spirits of his once living blood were trapped in the forest which he had called home, they dwelled in the waters of the sacred waterfall, and ran into the great lake. He knew he could never speak to his father, mother, or twin brother ever again, for their spirits eternally played and danced in the waters of the great lake.
Kobalt didn't know what he had become. He was so lost. He didn't know who he was anymore. His demon-like appearance masked his old self.

It was morning and Kobalt woke up to find himself covered with water. He quickly climbed out of the den and shook off. He was freezing cold and the winds told him winter was near. He turned toward the stump-like home to see it was filled with water.
"It must of stormed heavily last night." He thought.
"I better find a new place to spend the night" he muttered to himself as he trotted the opposite direction of his pack to look for food.

Back at the pack grounds of ShadowHaze Ari was appointed leader. She called for a meeting at the three boulders. As her pack mates settled down, she began her speech.
"Our pack has lost a great leader yesterday.." She stopped herself from crying.
"Your leader and my soon to be mate.. that demon has murdered the wolf we all knew and loved, our leader who helped us through harsh times, our leader who strived to protect us all.. sometimes putting his own life into danger."
Bear started to cry. His other friend twitch went over to comfort him.
Ari continued on..
"Our great friend.. Our father or brother though not by bloodline. He was always there to protect us. It angered him when he couldn't protect the ones he loved. It angers me that we couldn't protect him."
Howls of agreement burst from the crowd of wolves.
"We must take revenge on that demon!!" Ari raged on..
"We must make our once great leaders' legacy live on!"
Soon the packs howls boomed throughout the forest, past the sacred waterfall which fell into the great lake, beyond the rivers, and past the boulders, their anger, their hunger for revenge was heard by the stars. Ari started speaking once again.
"We must find that demon and slay him! Only then will this pack continue to live on!!"

Kobalt found a small, thin mouse and ate it in two gulps. He knew he had to get revenge on Karma, he didn't know how, but he was going to find a way. Whatever he did, whatever it took, he would make her pay.
