Hope Crest's POV:
Waves crashed and descended as the world above us looked a lot different than the world below.
"Are you sure this is a great idea?" Anxiety laced in my voice.
"Haven't you always told me to trust my instincts?" Lilith shot me an inquisitive gaze. She was right, I have always told her countless of times to trust her instincts, but this time I have a unsettling feeling that her instincts are leading her in the wrong direction as of tonight.
The moon shimmered above us, reflecting our shimmer tails as it shines and shimmers like a thousand tiny diamonds.
Inhaling a deep breath, I muttered to her. "Yes, but-"
"Look, we can trust him. He has been my friend for how many moons?" Lilith pondered her thoughts for a moment, before shrugging it off.
I groaned. "It does not matter how many moons- wait; you did not just tell your "friend" that we were a you-know." I flipped my fin upwards, before it splashed back downwards into the waves.
"No...." Her voice trailed off into uncertainty.
"Lilith!"
"He doesn't know that we are Sirens!" Lilith shouted.
"Wait your one of them?"
I smacked my face. "Well he does now!" I hissed violently.
The young boy stepped back in fear, knowing that he has heard the legends of these mysterious creatures.
"Yes, but I'm not dangerous." Lilith said in a alluring and soft voice, for we meant no harm to the human.
"Caleb! H-How much did you hear?" I asked. I instantly knew his name, knowing that Lilith gushed about him the whole time.
"Just about the whole thing," Caleb's expression darkened, "If you are Sirens, then how about you take me to your home." He threw us a sly smile.
"Caleb, I'm sorry, but we can't. It's a rule that we can not bring humans to Lothea. It's highly forbidden." Lilith said, I watched as she inched closer and closer to the boy, but I noticed that the boy was taking a step back every time Lilith got closer towards him.
"I'm not going to harm you!"
"S-Stay back! Come any closer and your secret will be exposed."
I watched as Lilith stopped in her tracks. "Caleb, I thought I trusted you!" Tears filled in her eyes.
"Well, I thought I trusted you! But with a secret as big as this," He chuckled. "why couldn't you tell me to begin with?"
"I couldn't, because if I did our whole kingdom will be in jeopardy and we- I could be possibly banished if our secret is exposed." I watched as Lilith succumbed to the boy's superior, this wasn't like Lilith to do this.
I knew she was stronger than this. Why does she choose to succumb to this guy, when she trusted him.
" I knew you couldn't be trusted. Yet, I was to ignorant to trust my own instincts," Lilith shouted in rage. She turned to look at me, I noticed that tears spilled down her cheeks. "And you! You always told me to trusted my instincts, yet they failed me." I sink downward into the sea as I let guilt washed over me.
