~Cheyenna's POV~

I’m out of touch

I'm out of love

I'll pick you up when you're getting down

And after all these things I've done

I will love you better now

The loud radio on my alarm clock blasted loud in my ears, snapping me out of my comforting dream.

"Cheyenna Brielle Americus Rosen! Get up! You're going to be late for the bus!" Lillian, my annoying and snooty step mother yelled from the bottom of the stairs. I rolled my eyes and slowly got up out of bed.

"At least today's a Friday. It could've been a Monday." I thought to myself. I dragged myself down the stairs and rushed into the bathroom hallway. I grabbed a towel off the rack and went into the bathroom, locking the door in the process. Stripping down, I turned on the shower and stepped in. I stood there for a minute, letting the warm water run down my long dark brown braids. After making sure I was fully awake, I washed off all the dirt from yesterday, turned the shower off, and wrapped a towel around myself and my hair. I popped my toothbrush filled with toothpaste in my mouth and started brushing. As I opened the bathroom door, the cold air hit me like a bus. How can it be this cold?! It's only February! Wait! That's the winter. Oops heheh. Shaking off my stupidity, I went back upstairs into my room to get dressed in the clothes I prepared yesterday. I decided on a black shirt that says "Cursive" on it in big grey letters with white dots around it and an apple dripping it's color down on the front, dark navy skinny jeans, and my black vans. I put on my bracelets and spritzed a little perfume on me. I don't really care for makeup so I put on a little mint Chapstick from my green EOS egg lip balm. A loud knock came from my door.

"Anna are you ready?" My younger brother, Jason, asked.

"I'll be right there JayJay." I called back through the mounds of toothpaste foam in my mouth. Dad always made sure that I took Jason on the bus with me to his school. He goes to Washington Middle School. Not that far from my school, Mariemont High School. On our way out I spat out my toothpaste, put the brush back, tugged the electric blue towel off my head, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. We were just in time to see our bus slowly start moving away from our house. Oh just perfect (Sarcasm)! Jason and I spent the next eight minutes chasing the bus down the endless street until someone noticed the two teens running after them. The bus mercifully stopped and the driver let us on. Finally! Jason went in the back with his friends, while I sat in the middle. I pulled out my favorite book, VampireAcademy, and continued my reading. I was a major book worm. In the middle of reading a page, while still unsuccessfully trying to catch my breath, I felt a tap on my shoulder. My head turned and I was met eye to eye with one of my friends.

"Hi Josh," I started, "What's up?"

"What book's that?" He asked while snatching it out of my hands. I rolled my eyes at his childness and snatched it back.

"Vampire Academy... And stop taking my stuff!" I demanded while jokingly hitting him on the arm.

"Anyways, guess what happened yesterday?" He asked.

"What?" I guessed.

"I was playing Grand Theft Auto V and-"

"You mean Grand Theft Auto Five?" I corrected. His face turned pink and he continued.

"Yeah...well, as I was saying, I was in this car and I was driving right into a..." I couldn't help but zone out when he started his never ending story. The bus stopped at a red light and i took in the scene. It was pretty foggy out there with a creepy horror film feeling to it. It stopped raining this morning, but the fog came in thicker than usual. There weren't many people on the streets today, which I found weird. My eyes roamed around the scene and I was brought to reality when I saw a man staring at the bus. His eyes had a glassy look to it and his face was a little scratched. He slowly started walking towards the bus, and before he could touch it, the light turned green. The bus accelerated forward and the man started running toward the bus. Determined to get to the inside. To get to us. I started freaking out about how savagely he ran and how he would knock down anyone in his way. "Josh you see him too right?" He gave me a weird look.

“See who?” he asked.

The bus took a sharp left. "That man over there. Running towards us."

"What man?"

I looked back out the window just in time to see him disappear into the moist fog. "Never mind."

“Are you feeling okay Chey?" (Pronunciation: Shy)

“Yeah, I'm perfectly fine. I swear I saw a man. He looked really creepy.”

“Okay Chey… I believe you.” he was lying -.- I rolled my eyes and looked out the window again. What was he? A minute after they dropped off Jason and his friends, they stopped at Mariemont High. Josh and I got off the bus and headed into the school.
