"Hey, Granger!"
Hermione walked faster in hopes of escaping Malfoy and his cronies...before realizing that her mind had been set back to before the war for a moment. Malfoy was no longer the snotty Slytherin she had known- he had matured because times had changed. The least she could do was give him a chance to be his true self. Turning around, she noticed that Draco was alone for once before asking, "Yeah, Malfoy?"
"Granger, I told you to call me Draco." He said, teasingly exasperated.
"Alright, Draco. Then you can call me Hermione. Now, what is it you want?" the witch asked, actually enjoying their playful banter now.
"Well, Hermione, I was just hoping that you would maybe," his hand went to the back of his neck and he had suddenly lost his cool demeanor, "accompany me this weekend? To Hogsmeade, I mean. You don't have to! I mean, if you don't want to, that's-."
"Draco, I'd love to!" Hermione said happily.
"Really?!" Draco asked with a smile, before regaining his Malfoy charm, "I mean, great."
They stood smiling and staring at each other for much longer than socially acceptable, before making their leave.
"Meet me in the Great Hall, we'll go on to Hogsmeade from there," Draco instructed.
"I'll be there," Hermione smiled before they both parted ways
