Not the biggest fan out there, but heck, when I saw Jacob Sartorius walking casually up to the counter at Starbucks, I could not help but squeal. He's a total cutie, no doubt - wearing a grey sleeveless t-shirt with black gym shorts. The outfit wasn't anything groundbreaking but Jacob always managed to look amazing in whatever he wore. I could see sweat glisten off the back of his neck while he spoke to the barista, who seemed to have recognized him given by her facial expressions. I was under a trance. This insanely famous guy was less then 10 steps away.
"VIVIAN!" Anna whispered aggressively.
"Huh? Ya I know, that's Jacob," I snapped back.
"Vivian, you've been staring at him for like 5 minutes already. I've been calling your name like a dozen times already." Anna replied.
"Yeah, what are we gonna do!?" I said as I hunched clandestinely over the table and closer towards Anna.
"I dunno! Just go up to him and say hi!"
"You crazy? I can't just 'go up to him!'" I replied.
"Well, your going to miss out on your only chance!" Argued Anna.
I slumped forward and blushed, realizing that Anna was right. I had to make the first move. I mustered up some courage and got up out of my seat.
Jacob was leaning back against a counter, waiting for whatever drink he ordered. As I took several steps towards him, he faced me and before I could say anything he nonchalantly said, "hi."
I managed to stutter out a, "ha..hi." I though, Jacob's probably been with hundreds of girls already. I'm not special, and he can probably get almost anyone he wants - I'll have to settle for a hug and a selfie tops.
"What's your name," Jacob said.
"Vivian, and I wanted to say that you're really funny. To be honest, I am not your biggest fan, but when I saw you walk in, I totally freaked out. And. And...that my friend Anna over there." I said as I pointed to Anna. I was really looking for more words to say.
"Oh that's sweet and thanks Vivian, I really like your name." Jacob replied.
My heart sank. I thought Jake was more of a social media personality than anything, but Jacob is something entirely different in person.
"Thanks Jacob, mind if we do a quick selfie? I'll need proof for my friends." I laughed.
"Sure thing." Replied Jacob.
I got out my phone and stood at Jacob's side. As I was sticking my arm out, Jacob pulled a rather unexpected move. He slid his hand onto the far side of my bottom and pulled me in closer. I blushed. The only person who touched me like that before was my ex-boyfriend. My sudden reaction was to do the exact same. I moved my hand over to his butt. We tilted our head in towards each other and I snapped the picture. We turned towards each other and hugged.
"Thanks Jacob." I said gleefully.
"No problem. Thanks for being a fan." He said as he turned for his drink.
Damn. That's it. Over so quick. I returned to my table and recounted the details to Anna. In the meanwhile, my snapchat was buzzing up with notifications. Everyone was wondering where and how and when. Surely, my moment of fame. "Uh, hey again." Those words came from behind me.
I turned and saw Jacob standing with his drink in his hands. "Vivian, I'm having a few friends over tonight and I was wondering if you'd wanna join. That's if you live around here."
"I have Volley Ball practice at 7 though, what time?" I responded. I was going definitely going to skip it if he said 7.
"Yeah, it will probably be 8 or 9. Not sure. You can sleep over too if you want, my friends will."
"Oh yea I think I can make it. Should we uhh...change numbers?" I fumbled. The thought of having his number in my phone was surreal.
"Yeah, and cool. Just put it in my phone." Jacob said.
Oh my god. I saw over 800 texts and notifications as I was saving my number.
We hugged again and exchanged goodbyes. I was trembling the entire time.
