It was really late when me and my sister got home from the movies. After she dropped me off at the house, she left to go back to her apartment. I looked around to find out that mom had gone to bed and dad was at work for his night shift at the station. Once I got upstairs, I decided to take a shower and go to bed. The hot water relaxed my muscles. I the got out of shower and got dressed, I slowly laid in my bed and started to close my eyes to go into a deep sleep, but before I could close them, there was a quiet squeaking of the roof paneling and a loud scuff from something on the roof.

I crept closer to the window when suddenly someone jumped into my room through the window. I was about to scream until I noticed that it was in only Aiden and felt relieved. It had been a total of two weeks since I last saw him.

''Aiden what are you doing here?'' I asked walking up to him.

''I just came to talk.'' Aiden said with a concerned look on his face.

''About what?"

"Well, I won't be around for awhile."

"What?  Its been two weeks since I last saw you and now your saying your leaving?" My heart was clenching at the thought of him leaving. I looked at him from under my lashes.

"Im sorry. It just....its just that I have some family issues I need to work out." The look he gave me said there was more to his story.

"Do you have to leave? Whatever it is I can help anyway you need. " The tears were threatening to fall.

"I just have to leave, but I promise that I will be back. I could never forget you. I promised to always prorect and care for you and I will keep that promise." When he finished,  I was crying so I pull him into a hug. After awhile of just standing there, using each others embrace for comfort, we pull away. The deafening silence was broken by my voice.

"Why...why do you have to leave?" I look up at him waiting for him to reply.

"Because ......" He was cut off by my mom trying to come in but my door was locked.

   ''Kara, who are you talking to and why is your door locked?" Her tired voice gave away that she had just woke up. I silently thanked myself on locking the door when I came in.

    ''No one mom just go back to bed!" I could faintly hear a grunt groan which came from my mom and her soft retreating footsteps. When I looked back I Aiden his head was trained on the door behind me.

    ''Aiden what's wrong ?"

    ''Someone is downstairs, stay here I'll check it out'' Confusion was my dominant thought. How could he tell if someone was here?

    " It was probably my mom, its okay."

    ''I don't care, I need to make sure everything is alright. I want you to be safe because I lo.......''he was cut off again but this time it wasn't my mom, a loud crashing sound came from down stairs. Somehow I just knew t wasn't my mom.

    ''Aiden I'm scared.''

    ''It's alright I will go check it out.'' he said with a concerned look.

    ''Aiden, be careful.'' The thought of something happening  to him made me terrified.

    ''I will.'' He said as he carefully walked out of my room and shut my door. The next thing that happened was so sudden, a woman with long dark hair jumped through my window. I screamed as I ran to the door, but before I could get too far the woman grabbed my hair and pulled me to the ground. Again I screamed out.

    ''Please let me go.'' I pleaded. I kicked and jerked around trying anything and everything to free myself.

   ''I don't think you should be the one giving orders here.'' She smirked at me fear froze my body. Her eyes shone a bright blood red as her teeth were of that of a canines. Before I could yell for help she took me by the wrist and bit me.

     ''Ahhhh.'' My eyes widened as I screamed so loud I thought I busted my own ear drums. The last thing I remember was Aiden running into the room and dropping beside me.
     When I awoke four people were sitting around me. The scents of everything and everyone overwhelmed me as I squinted due to everything being brighter. I was confused, scared, and last but not least nervous.

   "Where am I?"I asked. My voice hoarse and my throat sore.

"Your safe." A voice said behind me.

Thank you to everyone that read my book! I am Rewriting this book and this is the first chapter of the new and improved book! The plot won't be too different but I did change it up some.
