A/N- So I've decided that for the titles of these chapters, I will have a phrase made out of chapter titles, by putting one word as the title. And the picture above is not supposed to be a gif.

(1) Can't

Cold, starving, soaked, tired. I couldn't feel my arms or legs. My body was hurting all over. I just couldn't bear it.

I stumbled through the streets. My feet were tired. My fingers were numb. My head had a splitting headache. I continued to stumble when a hand was placed roughly over my mouth and another hand grabbed my arm and dragged my somewhere.

When I took a quick look at my surroundings, I noticed that I was being taken into an alley way. I was too tired to scream. I simply closed my eyes, wishing for my situation to just be a trick my brain was playing on me. Sadly, it wasn't.

The hands let go of me, but they shoved me to the damp, hard brick wall. I fell back and landed on my bum. Pain coursed through me. I gritted my teeth, but I didn't say anything.

The person revealed itself. I stared, gaping like a fish would. There stood Luke. His sandy hair was still messy, his blue eyes now clouded over with gold ones. His scar was still visible. He looked like himself, excluding his gold irises, before he turned.

He smirked. "Hello Cassie. We meet again." I couldn't speak. My face drained color. "At least speak on our reunion." At his words, I felt something snap inside of me.

I clenched my fists, which were at my sides. "You betrayed us, traitor." He simply scowled. "I did it to get revenge on Olympus. Join me Cassie. You can get revenge on your mother, who never bothered to show her face." That did it.

"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING CASTELLAN! JUST BECAUSE HERMES DIDN'T SHOW UP IN YOUR LIFE DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN RUN OFF AND JOIN KRONOS!"

Luke's face dropped from a scowl to anger. Out of the shadows bounded three hell hounds. "You're making a mistake, Cassie. And you'll pay for it like the gods." And with that, he stepped back into the darkness and disappeared, leaving the three hell hounds.

I quickly pressed my ring, which turned into twin daggers. The hell hounds growled at me. I got into a defensive stance. It didn't take a genius to know that they would attack first. My suspicions were correct.

The one on the left charged, with it's teeth bared. It jumped, aiming to knock me off my balance. I side stepped and stabbed one of my daggers into it's side. It yelped and dissolved into golden dust.

The others growled more viciously. They charged at the same time. My eyes widened. I didn't expect them to. I had gotten lucky with the first one. I tried stabbing one, but missed by a few inches. The other one was already on top of me, clawing at my chest.

It had done some damage. I stabbed it in it's eye. It dissolved once more. I didn't see the other one. It jumped on my back, knocking me over, which caused more blood to gush out of my wounds. The last thing I saw were two pairs of feet running towards me.

I blacked out.

Carter's POV

"Carter please!" I sighed in frustration. It was the fifth time that Sadie was begging to go into some store she liked. She just huffed and made her way into the store. "Sadie wait up!" I rushed towards her direction, but was stopped when I saw a girl, around my age, being pulled into an alleyway.

I quickly entered the store and grabbed Sadie by the arm. I dragged her out of the store and towards the alley, but stopped when I was leaning against a brick wall that was connected to the alley.

"What now?" Sadie asked, annoyance wavering in her tone. I placed my hand on her mouth and peeked into the alley. The girl was on the concrete floor. She had shoulder length hair, which was obviously dyed a lilac color. Her clothes were tattered, with smudges of dirt, blood, and some gold specks on it. I could only manage to read "Half Blo-". Her eyes were a chocolate color, dark brown irises.

A guy was towering over her. He had sandy hair, golden eyes, and a scar. It looked painful, but it seemed like it had been a long time since he got it. His mouth was moving, saying something to her. She spat something at him, which didn't make him happy. He scowled and replied. After a few seconds had passed, I heard the girl shout.

"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING CASTELLAN! JUST BECAUSE HERMES DIDN'T SHOW UP IN YOUR LIFE DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN RUN OFF AND JOIN KRONOS!"

What? Hermes? Kronos? I had to rack my brain for answers. I remembered. Hermes was the Greek god of thieves, travelers, and was the messengers of the gods. Kronos was the father of Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. He ate all of them, except for Zeus. Then he was slashed into tiny pieces and thrown into the Underworld. I didn't understand how this applies to them.

Out of the shadows came three  huge dogs, which were pitch black. It seemed like the guy told her something and walked into the shadows, disappearing from the site. But the three 'dogs' stayed behind. The girl pressed her ring, which turned into twin daggers. Sadie gasped through my hand. I almost forgot she was here.

The one on the left charged towards her. She simply side stepped and stabbed it's side, which caused it to yelp and turn into golden dust. Now I know where the specks of dust came from. The other two growled viciously and charged at the same time. The girl tried stabbing one, but missed. The one that she tried stabbing knocked her down flat on her back, tearing through the fabric of her stomach area of the t-shirt. She managed to stab it in the eye. It turned into gold dust, like the other one. She got up, but was distracted by her wounds. The last one jumped towards her, knocking her over. She fell on her wounded area. Her eyes started to become droopy.

I let go of Sadie's mouth and rushed towards her. Sadie did the same. I ran towards the 'dog' with my khopesh out and sliced through it. It turned to gold dust. I turned back to Sadie, who was hauling the girl by her arm. "She's unconscious." Sadie said. I nodded and helped her. I draped the girl's arm over my shoulders and carried half of her weight, while Sadie carried the other. Together we made it to a hospital.

We stayed, just in case. We waited in the waiting room for the girl to wake up. And it took a long time for her to.

Sorry if Sadie and Carter were too OOC! I'm still getting used to the idea of writing a Kane Chronicles fanfiction! I hope you ladies liked it! Remember to vote and comment! Bye!
