It was a cold, dreary Tuesday. Jason looked at the classroom clock. 9:00, only one hour in the school day, though it seemed much longer to him because the teachers at Lakeview High managed to bore all the students. He glanced up at the teacher, mid-forties with an unforgivable monotone. The teacher was droning on about the 2nd World War. Jason ran a hand through his messy hair and glanced out the window. It was drizzling, fogging up the window. Nothing new as they were in the outskirts of London. He shot a look at the clock again, only 9:03. Like no time passed at all. Jason sighed and tried to concentrate on the teacher.

After about an hour of History, Jason, like the rest of the class, were all half asleep, so no one noticed as the classroom door creaked open. Everyone continued slouching over their desks as the teacher talked with the person who opened the door.

'Class,' the teacher called out, earning grunts from the students. The teacher frowned, clearly not getting the reaction he wanted, so he walked towards the blackboard. 'Class!' he yelled, scraping his yellow nails down the blackboard, earning yells and their full attention. 'This is-' he paused looking at the floor, 'Laura?' he questioned as they all stared at the girl on the floor, clutching her ears and whimpering.

The bell rang, causing the teacher to snap out of his previous confusion. 'All right. Jason, you take Laura to the nurse, the rest of you to your next class.' It made sense, that the teacher asked him to escort her, as he was one of the tallest in the class, and Laura looked like she had to be dragged to the nurses. The rest of the class started leaving the History classroom, while Jason stayed back for the new girl. He walked up towards her and pulled her into a standing position. Laura pulled her auburn hair out of her face.

'Do you need help walking?' asked Jason nicely. He was considered a softy at Lakeview. A tall brown haired, green eyed bloke; trying to earn a smile from the new girl. Most would fall at his feet by his smile, wide and crooked, sincere and honest. He knew it though, however not ever getting full of himself. He did get surprised when her reaction wasn't as called for as the other girls he met.

Laura shot him a look, 'I've known how to walk for a while, thanks,' she hissed. He took a step back. Those eyes, as yellow as yellow can get. She smirked, noticing his discomfort, and walked out of the room. Jason followed her awkwardly, after all, it beats sitting in a sweaty classroom, and he was 80% sure she didn't know where the nurse was.

Laura pranced confidently down the corridor. Her long, red hair swaying with her long strides. This girl was more confident the you can get. Her smaller figure seemed to enlarge by her mere personality. Head up, back straight, and shoulders back; an easy sign of self assurance.

'Wrong way,' Jason muttered under his breath and broke into a jog to catch up with her. He didn't really know what to say to her, he was trying to come up with something witty but nothing came into mind. 'So.. where are you from?' he asked, trying to start a conversation.

'Why do you ask?' Laura remarked bluntly.

He scoffed, 'you really thought that no one would notice your accent?' He glanced at Laura, trying to get her to say something, but the silence continued. He just kept following her, no idea where she was trying to go.

Laura looked up at him, her yellow eyes meeting his green ones, 'Australia,' she said, a small smile escaping her lips, before it was hidden under her unreadable face. She broke the eye contact, and Jason shivered. They continued walking.

They reached to main entrance to the relatively small school.

'This is not the nurse's office,' Jason noted, receiving a glare from Laura. Reciting the obvious was obviously not her thing. She just opened the door and walked out, like it was the easiest  thing in the world.

She half turned back, 'are you coming or what?' she called out.

Jason was hesitant at the door, not sure whether to follow or not, 'I don't know,' he replied, looking back down the corridor. She just laughed, walked up to him and literally dragged him with her.

'I don't fancy going alone,' she stated, and that was it. Jason was being dragged out of school to who knows where, with who knows who.

'Where are we going?' complained Jason, tugging his hand away from Laura's and insisting on stopping. He didn't mind so much about being alone with a reasonably hot girl, at least in her unique way. He was more annoyed by her dominance over him. He was following her, it was her who made the decision.

Laura glared at him, clearly pissed off by his unwillingness to follow. 'Stop whining like a baby and just follow me.'

Jason just crossed his arms, 'I don't even know where we are, I don't know how to get back home, or to school. It's your first day here, how would you know how to get back?' Laura growled in frustration and continued walking. 'Laura!' Jason called out, 'Laura! Why are we even out here, why do we even need to be here?'

But she just kept going, quickening her pace. 'Just go then, I'll go alone,' she growled at him. She let her hair drop over her face, hiding her face, which was darkening with every step. Hidden emotions crawling out of her skin as Jason, in her opinion, 'questioned her dominance.'

Jason ran a hand through his hair in clear annoyance, 'Did you not hear me? I don't know where we are!' He ran towards her grabbing her arm. Laura flipped around and growled menacing at him, he froze, seeing her eyes glaring full force. 'Laura,' he stuttered, before seeing one tear roll down her face. Laura ran away, too fast for him to even try following.
